Rich and Not Bitter
If you like bold but not bitter Sumatra is you coffee. That one can get so much flavor our of a K-Cup is a wonder. This has been my daily afternoon coffee since I first tasted it -- replacing (for reason of price) my other K-Cup favorite, Pete's Major Dickason's.I'm hoping it will remain so. But Amazon seems to have a habit of offering good coffees at a fair price and then booting the price step-by-step until it is out of reach -- starting the search for me all over again.Well one can hope! And for now enjoy. And that's something!.

Half the pack is "mild" (almost decaf?) - won't wake you up
I like the variety, but heads-up for serious coffee drinkers: the orange and the green are "Mild" and essentially decaf. So, only half this shipment will actually wake you up in the morning. The blue/yellow are the only dark roasts here; I think the yellow (Ethiopian) has a fuller/richer taste, and the Brazilian (blue) is a little more bitter. I liked the variety pack for the sake of trying different things, but I had to toss half of it because it wasn't waking me up. I now exclusively buy the blue or yellow.

Costa Rican just doesn't cut it.
Costa Rican has, in the past, been one of my favorite "go to" coffees, especially the tarrazu, when I lived in a city and had a botique coffee store which roasted and packaged their premium quality beans. Sadly, the older couple retired and closed shop just before I moved to a small, rural town. I haven't had a good Costa Rican coffee since. Living in the rural, very small town that I now live in I'm limited to ordering online anything other than grocery store coffee.Nowdays I usually use a Keurig rather than grinding my own beans knowing full well that a K-cup coffee will never be as good as fresh ground. I was really looking forward to the Brown Gold Costa Rican varietal and had high hopes that this coffee would at least come close to the great Costa Rican coffee I had in the past. Before ordering I researched the Brown Gold website and was excited to see that they did mention Tarrazu in the Costa Rican description. I doubt this coffee has any of the Tarrazu beans in it, the flavor just isn't right. As far as the coffee goes, I've had worse, but then again, I've definately had better. I enjoy a lighter, lively coffee first thing in the morning and a good dark roast in the evening. This falls in the middle but without the fine qualities of either. Although Brown Gold says this is a light to medium roast, it comes across somewhat heavy and bold. There is a chocolatey finish but more like a Hershey bar than a fine chocolate. It definately does not have the nuances and intensity of a good Italian or Espresso roast, it just comes up lacking. It isn't so bad that I'll throw out the remaining capsules, I'll keep it for emergencies or serve it to someone that normally drinks a grocery store brand.

Keurig-Klogging K-Cups
I really didn't want to believe it to be true, but I have objectively determined that it is. These K-Cups are clogging my Keurig (Platinum B70).I have only tried the Costa Rican variety, and unlike some reviewers, the flavor of this K-Cup is exactly what I wanted. That makes it only that much harder to abandon them. Naturally, I've only made matters worse by ordering a second box of 48 of these a mere 10 days after placing the first order for same, because I enjoyed drinking the coffee so much.I'd been searching for a Costa Rican K-cup that might contain coffee from a specific estate, La Minita, and upon my first sip of the brew made from Brown Gold Costa Rican K-cup, I knew I'd finally hit pay dirt.Years ago, when I lived in a city known for its coffee (and for letting the good times roll), I discovered the difference in flavor imparted by the use of La Minita beans quite by accident. I'd been buying whole beans at a well known coffee house and knew that I preferred this specific bean. One day, I found them to be out of stock and asked after their disposition. The, "manager," (whom I later suspected to be the franchise owner or at least much more than just that store's manager) came out from the back and asked me why I enjoyed La Minita coffee so much, especially since the state is known for its own high quality locally grown beans. He appeared dumbfounded when I answered, "it just tastes cleaner to me."Turns out, as he relayed, that he'd been to the estate in Costa Rica when negotiating a deal with this then small business and witnessed the processing method, as he had at numerous other bean producers' plants. The process utilized was actually unique (at that time, which must have been mid 1990s) in that this was the only grower he'd seen wash the beans. He was quite shocked that I seemed able to taste the difference having no dirt in my coffee could make. Needless to say, instead of just ordering some of those beans that he'd planned to discontinue offering just for me, he decided right then and there to begin restocking them for the store.I'm guessing that in this day and age of coffee connoisseurism and also the recent focus on organic growing and elimination of additives (such as fertilizer by products and whatnot), that my favorite estate owner is no longer the only one washing his beans prior to processing them, but additionally, that estate does produce a superior bean to my taste buds. I'm also fairly convinced that the Brown Gold Costa Rican K-cup utilizes my favorite beans as the once small estate owner now seems to be the main coffee grower for the region according to my internet research. And that, my fellow shopper, is why this K-cup gets two stars instead of one. I like the flavor, and this coffee is low in acidity with a nice smooth finish that some drinkers equate with weakness of the brew (I do not). To me, a coffee doesn't have to be bitter to deliver a potent caffeine pick-me-up. Of course, I cannot speak to the other varieties of Brown Gold as I've only tried the Costa Rican one.Every single time I use these, my Keurig gets clogged, and I am forced to stick a wire through the holder assembly to restore water flow. Sometimes it takes more than one brew using this brand, and other times it happens after only one cup.I bought 96 of these in late August. When my brewer was clogged early in September, I entertained the notion that it was these that had been the offender, but didn't really want to believe that. I did put them aside, though, and move on to other brands, including Van Houtte Costa Rica Coffee Keurig K-Cups, 18 Count and Copper Moon Aroma-Cup, Costa Rican, 12 Count , neither of which seem to cause an immediate clog, and countless non-Costa Rican varieties. Recently, these were unearthed, and after some more objective testing, I have determined that my clogging problem only arises after using this brand of K-cup.Bottom line : great tasting cup of coffee, but necessitates far too much brewer maintenance and causes concern over potential to damage the machine.

Good Colombian
I bought a couple of the the Colombian 24 pack pods at a deal price they had a month and a half short dated code as we drink a lot of coffee and knew we would drink it within a few weeks. Wasn't really expecting super good tasting coffee but this is exactly we got Brown Gold Colombian is pretty good coffee not overpowering strong but strong enough not bitter but not sweet it is what a good cup of Colombian should be flavor right on target.

Enjoyable Coffee
I can tell if I like a coffee because it’s the first to disappear in my collection. This went pretty fast and I will order it again. Consistent and pleasant tasting. Brown Gold was always one of my moms favorites and she knew good coffee.

Great variety K-cup pack!
I was quite pleasantly surprised by this variety pack as I was just expecting very basic coffee. I very much enjoyed all of the flavors! I'm not sure yet which is my favorite. I'm probably leaning towards the Brazilian and Ethiopian, as both have great bold flavors but not with any bitterness. I've always really liked the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Company's Costa Rican k-cup, and this is quite similar (and just as enjoyable) for those who prefer a lighter roast. My favorite kcups are still the Barrie House brand, but I'll definitely continue to buy the Brown Gold variety box as well.

Great coffee but pods can be problematic
Great coffee, nice variety, and good value but the pods are more difficult to disassemble for recycling than others I’ve tried and are occasionaly packed too full for water to flow through. This resulted in my machine shutting down. It was easy to remedy but it took me a while to figure out that the problem was the pods not my machine. But this has only occurred with a few of the 60 or so of these pods I’ve used.

Awesome Coffee! Good cost per cup!
I bought this sampler for my parents for Christmas, knowing that they like a variety of different coffee types. I've had a couple of them myself and I am impressed - I wish I had a Keurig instead of a Tassimo so I could have this at home. They're nearly though the box of coffee (and finishing off their previous supply as well) and have asked me to purchase more. Because of the sampler pack, they now know the flavours they like.I will purchase more for them, and if I get a Keurig, I'll get some for me, too.

Great tasting
I have been having this coffee for a few years now and really love the flavour. It has a deep flavour but lighter than a traditional french roast.
