I bought this cable to use between an older KVM switch which only has VGA out, and my newer monitor.When I got the package I opened it up to find the cable. Period. I plugged everything in but there was no video showing on my monitor. I powered down the PC and fired it up again. Still no good.After that I decided I would plug in the USB portion of the cable into the KVM. Bingo! I had video!Turns out the USB has to provide power to the adapter cable to make it work. A simple instruction sheet in the packaging would have been great!Now that it's all connected I am very happy with the cable. I am running at a resolution of 1600x900 and everything is crystal clear.

It is quite long so it will reach everything I need it too.. It has audio and USB plugs but I don't use them.. I have a AV Access to switch my Keyboard, Mouse, and headphones from computer to computer.. But the cables are there if you need them.. Computer #3 is my gaming computer and the 32in monitor is clean and shape with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and the cable handles it well.. I would recommend this cable to anyone

Worked with a Sega Dreamcast VGA cable using a bi-directional connector. Picture quality seems clear and good, with no noticeable latency when playing classics like Space Channel 5. Audio quality is acceptable.

I have tried several adapter cables in the past, mostly throwing them away. This one was a winner in several ways. First, it has power supplied via a USB port for the needed converter. Secondly, the sound and picture quality are a vast improvement over previous versions of adapters I have tried. The only issue I have is a slight change in aspect ratio that occurs between the two formats.I use the cable to allow me to use a single monitor with two different computers... in fact, two different operating systems... so that I can have dual monitor capability for both systems without having to have FOUR screens on the same monitor stand. Thus, I have editing for both word processing and animation with "the touch of a button" (Well, two actually). This is definitely something I would buy again if I needed another adapter!
