SOVA 3D Night Guard

Bought this about a month ago (the preformed version) for myself to help with nighttime grinding. Thankfully I read the reviews about how the material expands and hardens significantly prior to fitting mine. It did not come out perfect but it is comfortable enough and is 100x better than waking up with headaches every morning. The biggest thing to keep in mind is to VERY LIGHTLY apply suction when fitting this to your mouth. It may feel loose while fitting but when it hardens it will become a lot tighter. If you go too tight during the fitting process it will hurt to have it on and you'll end up needing to re-do it.

I grind my teeth at night and this has prevented me from doing that. I had to try a couple times to get them exactly right and I am still getting used to wearing this after a couple weeks now. If I could I would give them a 4.5 star, but maybe it's me not totally accepting something in my mouth all night long. I do sleep good with it in, it's just the idea of it I think.

I have the 3D night guard (2.0 mm). The fit process worked surprisingly well. But, depending on your bite pattern and the size of your teeth this guard could be excellent or a disappointment. Here are 2 problems with this guard: 1- It's too thin to adapt to some bite patterns. If you bite down normally with an empty mouth and only a few upper teeth touch lower teeth this guard may not work well for you. In my case I need a guard that's maybe 1 or 2mm thicker so that all of the teeth make a deeper impression in the guard when doing the hot water thing. The guard should evenly distribute the bite pressure. 2- The other problem: it's too small for some people. It may not cover the 2nd and 3rd molars. It doesn't in my case - with the guard in place, most of my the bite pressure is on the 1st molars.

This is exactly as described. I was happily surprised to find that the directions for molding were simple and worked the first time!

Not really sure how people are having a hard time molding/forming this thing. As long as you get the preformed one it is no different than molding any other mouth guard. It's very straight forward. Can't comment on if it helps with my grinding or not.... I didn't even know I was grinding but the dentist says I do and recommended this since I didn't want to spend money on one from them.

Good concept, but difficult to get fit right. Edges kept folding over in back. OK since you can reheat and try again. Ultimately got that right, but when I use it, I felt like it was pushing my teeth back. I didn’t want my teeth to move, so I gave up. I’ll spend $200 to get one from the dentist.

I wasn't sure as it was my first time but I reassure you: easy to mould, comfortable once in, does not disrupt my sleep. It has helped me prevent further tooth damage from gritting in the night. Highly recommend.
