Game Changer
I’m not one to write reviews, but I had to review this product. I have been using it for about a month now, with no intention to stop soon.I’ve bought resistance bands several times before, but this combination of the base and the resistance bands are phenomenal. I’ve been wanting to purchase a power rack for a long time now, but I just don’t have an area where I can leave it and it not be in the way in some shape way or form (besides my garage which is either way too hot or way too cold). Enter the Evo Gym.As a background, I’ve been lifting for about 13 years in a variety of styles, weights, body weight, resistance bands, gymnastics (just ring work). My preference is actual weights. Or it was.First of all, the Evo gym is portable. You can bring it with you. The base folds up nicely, and it comes with a bag to throw all the accessories (bands, door anchor, etc) into. I throw it under my bed or in a closet until I’m ready to work out again. I travel a fair amount, so whenever I am driving you can bet this is coming with me. This is one of the reasons I gravitate towards these kinds of products, as I try to keep a regular routine. The more obstacles I face in working out (example being driving to the gym, packing for the gym, it’s snowy out, it’s rainy out, etc), the harder it is for me to get after it. Having it at home eliminates excuses.Second of all, I love the way it has scalable measures of progress. We all know that progressive overload is the best way to get more muscle, but I adore the way this works. You just count the notches and the weight in resistance in your training notes, and try to beat your reps from last time as you progress. I also love that you can micro-load, by notching up one more on whatever movement it would normally be on (that way you are getting a little bit more resistance at the end of the movement where it most difficult, which is one of the perks of resistance bands).Third of all, I love the sheer amount of exercises I can do with this. You can do a ton of exercises with traditional loop bands but you have to step on them, and then you have to guess where you were last time with hand placement. Some people can intuitively find that sweet spot of getting the proper amount of resistance, but I like to track closely, and guessing where I was last time always bothered me (which I think explains my preference for traditional weights). With this, I know that I was on notch 3, with 60 pounds of resistance. I can put the 10 on there and make it heavier. If 10 is too much, slide up to the next notch and then micro-load it in that way like I mentioned above. To be fully transparent, I have not used the door anchor or ankle attachments so I cannot vouch for those. Like my earlier comment about traditional loop bands, it feels subjective to what resistance might be that day (anything that involves taking a couple steps away to get it to where you needs to be I have trouble tracking). I exclusively have been training always using the base as I primarily prefer compound movements for most of my exercises and all my additional isolation movements can be met with the base somehow. Evo Gym’s videos are extremely helpful for figuring out the correct way to hit whatever you are trying to target. Their overall presentation has been phenomenal and I love the manual that came with it. Everything has been functioning well, and it seems like the creatorMy only complaint is that I wish the base had a way to somehow latch close. I’m sure I can think of something to fix that, but it would be nice if there was a magnetic seal on it somehow. If you have low space at your house or apartment and enjoy working out at home or travel on the road, I can’t recommend this enough. It has truly been game changing for me. I’m not looking at Rogue’s Power Racks weekly anymore, and that is saying something. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. You can tell this was developed by somebody that loves working. As a fellow lifter, busy dad, and frequent traveller, thank you!

2 Months in using EVO - And this home gym is GREAT!
I needed something that would be an upgrade from my old/regular resistance bands that you have to step on etc. for workouts and wanted to find something that would provide improved resistance training that I could do at home, in a small space, since the gym or home gym with free weights etc. isn’t an option right now, so I thought I’d give this a try, and it more then fits the bill!I find that the option to use the “notches” on the bands is genius, since you can get decent eccentric resistance since you’re able to have some tension throughout most movements. Something I was not able to achieve with other resistance bands that had almost nothing until you were halfway to the concentric contraction because of the length (and no base to attach the bands too). Since starting with the EVO, and it’s ability for many various resistance exercises for the whole body, I’ve already noticed good gainsand definition In my muscles and overall fitness. I’m a skinny-ish older guy, so I’ve also been adding a lot of protein and some extra calories to my diet to maximize my results. The build quality of the base and accessories is great, and all the printed info received with the product, the online videos from Mitchell (the owner) are really very helpful for a basic overview of what you can do with the EVO.Also their customer service has been really great and quick to respond (thanks Jim Reyes) with some of my questions etc.I saw some other reviews regarding people having frustrations with changing the bands on the base between exercises, and I get it, it’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you “get it” it’s not really that bad at all, and you’ll get fast at it (look at it as your rest time between sets). But I do agree that the door anchor/band connection bracket can be bit “clunky” to work with, but it’s pretty ingenious for how it can work with the notched bands, but yeah, I do struggle with it at times.I also really appreciate that Nomadix makes sure you are very aware of the limitations of resistance bands, unlike other companies that usually just gloss over this, or don’t even make you aware that as these latex bands get older, or are pushed beyond their ability they may snap. it’s happened to me with other ones I’ve had, and yeah, it's jarring, but that’s just the reality of these things. Just got to remember to try to inspect them as best you can for wear etc.At least Nomadix offers FREE replacements if a band should break, or is received with any issues!I’m a VERY happy customer, and really have been enjoying getting my motivation back for muscle building & strength training since seeing my results with the EVO - Thanks guys!

Very happy with my EVO Gym!
Before purchasing the EVO Gym, I was specifically looking for a variable resistance training system that had a foundation plate that attached to a bar with bands. This product seemed to be of good quality, had good reviews, and was affordable, so I decided to go for it.I'm a fairly new user of the EVO Gym and new to strength training in general, so I made sure to watch all the videos provided and found them helpful. I've taken my training somewhat slow. I didn't want to get overzealous and either hurt myself or get so sore that I couldn't move. However, in the last couple of weeks, I've started to hit my stride and am seeing progress in the number of reps I can do in each session. Configuring the EVO Gym for each different exercise is coming easier as well. At first, it was a little clumsy, but I can definitely see the benefit in the design of the product, and now that I'm used to moving the bands/notches, it's not a big deal. I love the compactness of the design. When I'm done with my workout, I can easily stash all the components away out of sight. I haven't had the opportunity to go out of town since I started using it, but I will definitely take it with me when I do, knowing it won't take up much room. When my EVO Gym first arrived, the bar was defective and would not snap together on one side. I requested a replacement and was pleased to find the process quick and painless. However, when my second bar arrived, it also would not snap together on one side. But using one part from the original bar with the new one, I was able to put together a complete bar. I brought this to the attention of the company, and they are looking into it on the production side.I’m happy with my EVO Gym and would gladly recommend it to others!
