We filled it with sand and it's holding our umbrella nicely even through a really bad, atypical windstorm that had fences falling apart, trees falling down and knocking power out, things flying around everywhere.

We have a very large offset umbrella that holds 80 LBS. of sand in the original base. We live in Northeast Ohio & can get some gusty winds. The 80 LBS of sand did not keep it from tipping over. As a temporary fix, we were using weights from my husbands barbells when I came across this product. They arrived on time & was very easy to fill. They are made of heavy duty waterproof fabric. We've had them now for a few weeks. On windy days when we would normally have to close the umbrella, these bags were just what we needed. The umbrella & base did not budge. We like that the water just beads up on the bags after it rains & that we can move the bags if we have to depending on which way the wind is blowing. We didn't have that option with the sand in the original base. We are very satisfied with the product & would recommend to family & friends.

Just got and seems to be very well made. Sturdy material...says 100% lifetime grantee which is great since every other sandbag seems to rip. Just have to figure out how to use this if I do have problems. Fits a 50 lb bag of sand perfectly and very heavy when full which is what I needed. Two features I really like is the two thick velco straps do a great job securing around the pole. Second, it has no zippers...every sand bag with zippers breaks and will leave rust marks on our pool deck. Wish they were a little cheaper so I could buy more...but the quality is great. Very happy so far.

Does a good job but the velcro seals come a little loose and let some of the sand out when moving ... little annoying but would buy again for the type of umbrella I have

These will not hold up a cantilever umbrella. Better get two sets

Used this base for over a month and it's doing exactly what the reviews stated.. My unbrellla is holding up great on windy days.

Just got two of these for my umbrellas. It came a little late but expected with the Christmas rush. I live in the Inland Empire in CA and the Santa Ana winds can be very severe and can have gust up to 70 miles sometimes where I live near the mountains. I needed something more to add to my current umbrella stand. The winds was still able to flip my current umbrella over off its base so I did some research to try these out rather than my old solution of adding large cinder blocks on top of it. It seem pretty durable. It looks nice. Easy to fill with the large opening and very helpful that it came with a large scoop. You still need to get your hands dirty to pack as much of the 50 lbs of sand into it. I was able to fill 49.5lbs give or take 0.5 lbs for spillage in each halves. I like that it was two haves and easy to transport. Pretty strong Velcro to connect the two but no sure if it will stay. Will update with the next strong Santa Ana winds to see if it will hold up or not.

Weight is more than adequate, ability to separate bags makes weight more manageable. Only concern is bag getting funky with continuous exposure to elements. We'll see. I intend to build box around it and turn it in to a side table, both to hide it and t protect it from the wet and damp. After a onth r so I am pleased with the product.
