Versatile beast
This lens does not leave my camera body during basketball season. When sitting on the baseline I can go wide enough to get the play right in front of me, and zoom far enough to get a good look at the action on the other side of the court. The zoom lens is a little stiff compared to what I’ve experienced with Canon or Sony, but that doesn’t bother me a ton. It may be “heavy” but that’s subjective. Coming from shooting with DSLR equipment, this Tamron lens is still lighter than the Canon 70-200 f2.8 lens that I previously shot with. I’m very happy with it.

Amazing lens. Replaced my 70-200 f/2.8 GM in most cases
I always heard this lens was heavy and cumbersome. I shoot a lot. 250,000+ photos a year and my 70-200 is starting to wear on me. I wanted an all around lens so I wouldn't have to go from a 24-70 to a 70-200. This lens fits the bill perfectly Only giving up a little on the wide end but I rarely truly need 24mm.I've had this lens a couple weeks now and have taken it on probably 30 sessions. It doesn't fail. And it is noticeably lighter than the 70-200 f/2.8GM.My only complaint with it is the lens hood is flexes when attaching.

Excellent range - terrific performance
I bought this lens once before, when it was originally released, but returned it shortly thereafter, since I felt it was too heavy and bulky. The sheer dense-ness of the lens turned me off at that time, which proved to be a bad judgement, as you will see below. After waiting a couple of years, I repurchased the lens, but this time around, I decided to ignore the weight and assess it for what it is. This lens is just terrific, both in terms of its range, its aperture and its overall optical excellence. The range starts at 35mm (wide-normal), which to me is perfect, since the ranges wider than 35mm, tend to have a lot of distortions, and thus I prefer avoiding those anyway. Then it moves to 40-50mm (normal) and then onward to where the portrait lengths begin (85mm) and finally onward to 135mm (another perfect long portrait FL) and goes a bit beyond to 150mm. I sold off my 24-70/2.8 and my 70-200 f/2.8, since I barely used those, ever since I started using this extensively. This lens is a one lens to do it all, and having used it extensively, there's no other lens that spends more time on my camera, than this one lens. I take this lens along, wherever I go, and I am totally pleased with it. The sheer dense-ness that turned me off initially, was due to the high quality glass that comprise the lens, and once that aspect dawned on me, I was no longer holding that against the lens.

Big and Heavy but for a reason.
Tamron doesn’t fail to impress with their variety of focal lengths! I really loved their 20-60mm and thought I could upgrade to this. In the end I returned it because I only plan to have one main lens for filming myself. So the long and heavy lens was not my fit.

This is a Tamron?
All I can say is WOW! I purchased the 35-150, to replace my Tamron 281200 zoom. The 28-200 was nice, but never as sharp as I wanted. I used it as my go to travel lens. I have two Sony bodies, the A7iv and the A7Riii. I have used many zoom lenses over the years, mainly for the convenience of not having to change lenses in the field. I currently use a Sony 200-600, for wildlife, which is an outstanding piece of glass. Now back to the Tamron 35-150. I ordered it knowing it would be a heavier lens and it is quite a bit heavier than the 28-200. I have not taken it on long excursions yet, so don't know how fatiguing it will be to carry around all day, especially if I am also carrying the Sony 200-600. The f2.8 will allow me to capture some shots at dawn and dusk, as well in other low light conditions. The five stars I gave it, well, I believe this lens is the absolute sharpest zoom lens I have ever owned. The build quality is excellent. Auto-focus is fast and accurate. I have put it through many tests and the results are phenomenal! This is the case through the entire range from f2.8 through f22. Tamron really hit one out of the park with this lens. Sony needs to catch up with this lens!

can't seem to hate
this thing was pretty expensive. it's also heavy. i bought it with a credit card so i've really been testing it out trying to hate it. if i hate it. the. i can return and feel better about spending money i don't have. i threw it on my a7riii and it has not come off. sure. sometimes i wanna go closer than 35mm. and yes. i want to go past 150. but the range of this lens is perfect. i threw on my sigma 24-70. it came off instantly and the tamron came back on. it's a fun lens. the custom buttons are rad and idk. it's a dope lens. i have my camera with me at all times. i fact it's in my bed next to me right now. if i'm not shooting. i'm not ok. i just ordered the 150-500 from tamron. the build quality is solid. i fell into this black abyss climbing a roof at night to get shots of a fire. and smashed this thing on the ground. nothing happened. i've spilled drinks on it. i use it. and it feels durable. it is expensive. and its pretty damn heavy. i can't tell you to buy or not. i'll be able to tell you after i use this thing until it's dead. i mean. i just got it. i will test it until it breaks.
