Modified the Brackets to work for 1996 Honda 1100 Shadow ACE - Looks Sweet!
After not having many options for my 1996 Honda VT1100C2 - I decided to take a chance with this knowing I'd probably have to heavily modify it to fit. To my surprise the bracket lines match up perfectly to the bike lines. I have 2 bolts where I could mount stock brackets. These obviously did not line up and due to the size of the brackets, it would cover where my stock turn signals are. Luckily, the last hole on the bracket is EXACTLY where my turn signals would go, so I was able to mount them to the bracket. Using a cordless drill and a step drill bit, I drilled a hole through both brackets and voilà, it mounted perfect. Honestly I couldn't have planned it better. If you look at the pic, the turn signals are actually attached to the farthest hole on the bracket. No holes left unused. Looks awesome on the bike and super secure! UPDATE - 06/15/2023 - After replacing the horrible bolts provided to affix the bar to the brackets and applying some locktite, it is holding up like a dream. No pitting or issues at all. I've affixed many backpacks, luggage and passengers to it and it hasn't faltered. Great purchase.

Simplicity
Simple & easy. Bolts may seem to short but w a little elbow grease I was able to knock it out. Looks great. I feel a lot safer knowing I have at least something behind me. Great for cost, it did arrive with a few scratches but NBD. 5/5

Cheap solid sissy bar
Used mainly for a luggage rack for my 3 day pack. It looks like the style that I remember seeing growing up in California on old choppers. Well built. Plates are slightly under a 1/8" thick with well polished chrome on the outsides. On the insides the chrome is a little light and you can see machine marks, but it isn't visible when mounted. The actual sissy bar looks to be cold rolled/formed steel and is solid as hell. The weld grinds on the pad attachment are pretty rough but they get covered with the back support pad(use mine for a tool bag mount). It doesn't come with mounting hardware to attach it to your bike, and the mounting hardware they do send to attach the plates to the bar could be better quality of the right size diameter. A trip to the hardware store and another $8 in hardware and this is actually a quality bar once built.

Excellent for the money. Looks great, plenty sturdy when securely fastened.
Looks great, fit nicely (although I had to mount the brackets on the inside, rather than how they're shown in the photo). My only two issues are #1 I'd like to put some rubber spaces between the sissy bar mount and the bike, but the stock screws don't allow that. #2 the bolts that mount the bracket to the sissy bar are way too long and protrude quite a bit. They also seem somewhat cheap. Best to replace IMO.

May need to go to the hardware store
First off I think this looks very sweet on my 48 but getting to that point was a bit of a hassle. first off the side plates was no problem, the bolts were a tab short but thats ok cause you don't want them so long they scrape the tire so I mark that as pay to play but then on to the nuts and bolts to mount the sissy bar to the side plates ... 3 out of 4 of the nuts and bolts were no problem but the last nut was about 2 sizes larger than the rest and that was a reason one to go to the hardware store but I pursued with the installation using 3 of the 4 sets then on to the back pad screws. These are wood screws meant to go through the pre-drilled holes in the sissy bar and into the backs of the pads well they barely and I mean just the tips of the ends barely reached through the sissy bar and was in no way shape or form going to be able to mount the back rest so there was the other reason to visit the hardware store for longer wood screws.... but outside that it is a good looking sissy bar...I should mention that I am only using this for a mount for a bag and not for a passenger and if I was using it for a passenger I would replace all the nuts and bolts that mount the side plates and sissy bar together with beefier nuts and bolts.

Very sturdy and great quality
I just installed this on my 2020 Sportster 883 and the quality seems phenomenal for the money. The lines of the bike are totally changes and I've used it a couple days to hold my backpack when I commute to work. I think it would easily hold my wife and possibly a larger backpack or duffelbag if I decided to take some longer trips. I'd definitely recommend it for the ease of installation and value for money.

A bit narrow for my Sportster
The high bar is a great look for my Sportster with the 10 inch handlebars I now ride with. The narrowness makes it difficult to get off and on ( with the quick detach side plates I subbed out instead of the non quick detachable side plates it came with ). The back rest pad was NOT drilled out and I have heard NOTHING back from customer service about that. I contacted them twice as they wanted to see pictures. I sent the pictures as requested to show that the holes were NOT present. Since then I have NOTHING from them about it. I used my old back rest and called it a day. I do wished they had gotten back to me on the subject though. Another customer had the same problem with the back rest and someone else mentioned the narrowness of the bars themselves. The side plates are NOT the issue. The width of the sissy where they attach to the the sides plates is the issue.
