O2 Oxygen Sensor Stepped Mounting Boss Bung M18 x 1.5

Until now, my bung hole was rotten and loose. Bung hole leakage was a continuous battle.. Years of agitation and abuse were just too much for it to take. This product was the perfect way to rejuvenate my bung hole to the tight and fresh one it once was. To install, I carefully reamed out my bung hole - I was afraid to make my bung hole too loose so I used a fine graduation stepper bit to slowly widen my bunghole little by little. This fitting then simply slid into my bung hole with slight force and then I very easily tightened by bung hole around it with some weld beads. I’m happy to say that this fitting is now permanently stuck in my bung hole.

I had to slightly open the hole on converter then tap it in. Welded in and fit good. Has longer sleeve area it is a benefit.

Worked great. The step helps keep its position and adds some rigidity. Welds easily and takes a good bit of heat, so keep the puddle on the bung vs the pipe. I found it easiest to drill a 1/4” hole, verify center is where you need, them use a step bit to open the pipe up enough to drop in. Since you’re welding a flat step to a rounded pipe, just put a few tack welds onto the edges then run a solid bead to weld the gaps. A second pass makes it look filled in properly and adds rigidity. Don’t forget to use an old O2 sensor or bolt to keep any slag or spatter off the threads (a good coat in antisieze helps too).

With the step in the bung, it is very easy to weld into an exhaust pipe. Even a hack welder like myself can make it seal up. It ain't pretty, but it doesn't leak.

This is so much better that the clamp on bung my kit was supplied with. Simple cut a hole in the exhaust and weld in the bung. Great quality.
