After using the Sony A7IV for a few months, I feel like I can write a review about it. I recently began my photography journey, and I thought this camera would serve as a good entry-level gear. The first thing that struck me was its stunning image quality. The 33-megapixel sensor captures details with incredible clarity, delivering lifelike images that astound me every time. One of the standout features for me is the lightning-fast autofocus. The autofocus and tracking capabilities are phenomenal. Whether I'm shooting portraits or fast-moving subjects, the A7IV locks onto the subject with precision, ensuring every shot is tack-sharp. Video capabilities are also impressive. The 4K recording at 60fps combined with the in-body stabilization produces smooth, professional-grade footage. It's like having a compact cinema camera in your hands. One caveat, however, is the kit lens that comes with the camera. Kit lenses deliver average-quality images (see my sample photos), so keep in mind that you may need to invest in a better lens. But the kit lens does the job. Overall, the Sony A7IV exceeds expectations. Whether you're a professional photographer or an enthusiast looking to elevate your photography game (like me), this camera is a worthy investment. It's versatile, powerful, and a true joy to use. After moving to the Sony FX3 for video, I decided to switch to Sony for photography, and well, wow! This is a fantastic camera, I’m using it currently with the standard f1.8 38mm lens and the f1.4 85mm g-master lens and I’m blown away, even with the “standard lens”, but stick a g master lens and it goes up another 10 notches in image quality. It’s not cheap, but it is very good. The eye tracking is decent and can make it easier to get in focus shots, especially if the subject is moving, I’ve used it with human and dog subjects and it really has performed well. You don’t get much in the box, the charger, a strap and a battery, I opted for body only since I had lenses for the FX3 and wasn’t interested in the kit lens since I mostly use prime lenses. It’s not light by any stretch, but it feels sturdy with a metal housing and exudes quality. It can take a full size SD card (just make site it’s fast enough) and also cfexpress type a cards, so there’s options there as well.

This was my first professional camera purchase having upgraded from a Nikon DSLR. I have to say I'm impressed, mirrorless is the way forward. Its such a great thing to be able to see a preview of the image in the viewfinder. The camera quality is fantastic, a mixture of metal and plastics. I believe it is good value for money. It is a good weight with the lens included. The menu system and brightness of the screen is good to give an interactive use. Its a great size and has good overall functionality.

I upgraded to this from my old A7III because I needed something that could handle both high-res product shots for work and decent video for my own projects, and this thing is a beast. The autofocus is genuinely sticky—I can wave a product in front of the lens or turn my back to the camera, and it instantly locks back onto my eye the second I turn around. It’s miles ahead of the older models where you’d have to pray it stayed in focus during movement. The video quality is stunning, especially the 10-bit color which lets me actually grade my footage without it falling apart. I was worried about the overheating issues people talk about, but I’ve run it for 45-minute interviews in 4K without a single warning, though I do keep the screen flipped out just in case. The "Active" stabilization mode is a lifesaver for handheld shots; it adds a tiny crop, but it smooths out those micro-jitters so well I've stopped bringing my gimbal for quick run-and-gun shoots. That said, the 1.5x crop when you shoot 4K 60p is the only real annoyance. It basically turns your 24mm wide lens into a 35mm, so you have to plan your lenses accordingly if you want slow motion. But honestly, for a camera that does photo and video this well in one body, it's a trade-off I'm willing to make. If you're on the fence between this and the SIII, get this if you need the megapixels for photos; you won't regret it.

Second a7 iv I've owned and wish I never sold the first after rebuying. Great quality product, better size grip than the 3. Impressive auto focus, 10fps (6fps in uncompressed raw) which is fast enough for me. Not really a beginner camera in terms of ease of use but always something new to discover. Great value with the kit lens, however you will want decent glass to get the most from this camera. Highly recommend

Works well. Good size and comfortable to use. Focuses well and has facial tracking. ISO good, noise doesn't creep in until around the 5000 mark but noise reduction can easily fix that. Good value for money.

I have not had chance to try this camera yet, but how Amazon thinks it's acceptable to send an item like this and of this value in a cardboard box without any sort of packing is beyond me.

Good upgrade, used for photography and videography and with the likes of a cage and some extra accessories this is brilliant value for money compared to something like FX3

Ancak, daha keskin ve hızlı bir lens arayanlar için 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II gibi alternatifler daha uygun olacaktır. Vous êtes amateurs confirmés ou professionnels ? Ce Sony A7 IV saura vous satisfaire que vous soyez photographe ou vidéaste. La qualité des clichés photos est magnifique et est adapté à tous les usages si tenté d'avoir les optiques adéquats qui vont avec. Comme souvent, l'objectif en kit est correct pour débuter mais il faudra ensuite s'équiper d'objectifs (Monture E) adaptés aux différents usages et doté d'une meilleure ouverture (téléobjectifs pour sport, animalier ou très gros plan par exemple). La durée de vie de la batterie Sony est parfaite pour débuter. Encore une fois si l'usage est professionnel il faudra prévoir plusieurs batteries pour pouvoir tenir une journée complète, notamment en vidéo. Les boutons paramétrables sont un plus qui permet d'automatiser les accès rapides aux fonctions les plus utilisés du photographe. L'ergonomie est bonne, l'appareil peut tenir fermement dans la main avec une seule main. La qualité de la vidéo est incroyable, il faut cependant noter qu'en 4K, un crop équivalent APS-C est appliqué. Pour filmer en plein format il faut accepter de passer en 1080p. Au vu du succès et la renommée de la gamme, de nombreux accessoires génériques sont disponibles (cages de protection et d'adaptation pour accessoires, clips de fixation rapide, batteries supplémentaires) Le + : L'application pour smartphone Creator's App qui permet d'exporter immédiatement photos et vidéos (ne fonctionne pas pour les vidéos en 10 bits qui ne sont pas téléchargeables de cette façon). Pratique lorsqu'on est en journée de shooting ou de tournage et qu'on souhaite envoyer un premier jet ou des rendus bruts à ses clients / partenaires. L'application permet également de contrôler à distance l'appareil depuis son téléphone. En résumé du matériel professionnel. Si vous passez d'un APS-C au plein format, anticipez bien la hausse de budget qu'engendrera l'achat des optiques qui sont bien plus onéreuses pour du plein format. Pour le reste, ce n'est que du bonheur !
