This has worked well to replace insulation on a boiler door. No issues and is holding up to high temperatures. I use a torch to remove the organic fibers before installation. Avoids the smell in the house, which can be quite strong

I used this to line my homemade mini forge and it exceeded my expectations in many ways.It cuts easily with a utility knife, and was simple to piece it into my forge with no adhesives required. It took only 7 minutes to reach max temperature, and the heat is more even throughout than with the lightweight firebrick.The exterior of my steel forge, after 30 minutes, still only registered 170F.This is awesome stuff!

I purchased this as an insulator under the heated bed on my 3D printer. Does a great job at stabilizing the temperature swings and holds temps better. It's a bit fragile so I wrapped it in masking tape to keep it from shedding.
