Top of the line.
Wow. So light. Removable AA batteries. Reasonable price. Things I'd change in the next design cycle? 1) Slightly bigger panes. Hanging off pack, so why not utilize that space fully? 2) Same vein, the wasted cloth at the top? Best sun exposure is at the top of the pack, the design should maximize panel hanging at the top? 3) Li-Ion are more energy dense than NiMH for equal weight. Maybe newer charging circuitry that auto-detects, so one can use either type? 4) Battery cover is cheesy. Maybe IP-6 it? 5) Dual AA, AAA charging? Chinese chargers do it at low cost? Little spring mechanism?Overall, this is state of the art. Shade tolerance second to none in the industry. Great price. Can't say enough about the removable standard (AA) batteries. No other design makes sense.

Works - but not the batteries that came with it
Works - but not the batteries that came with it. The charger is small and light weight, rolls up easily. The Power Film batteries were a bust - the light indicating charging never came on while they were installed and placed near light. I replaced with my own rechargeables and it worked. I tested the charger by connecting a USB cable to my phone and the phone indicated charging. I have not yet tested it outside, but it did charge when threaded through my dining room chandelier. It needs to be close to the light source or very bright outside.

Great Product
Replacing the "Be Prepared" one after 6 years quit working, but served me well. I do wish their R&D folks would develop a unit that would use CR123 batteries (optional), I did have a discussion with Powerfilm several years ago, but don't believe it was developed, would be great for military/veterans who use several devices run on CR123 batteries. Just my $0.03 worth.

Charge your USB device from AA batteries in an emergency.
I bought this to use with my Powerfilm four AA solar battery charger. The two chargers together allow me to charge AA batteries and use those batteries to charge my phone or other USB device. It charges more slowly then some USB chargers but in time of emergency being able to charge your phone from AA batteries could be a lifesaver. Overall a great device to have. I don't understand why Powerfilm discontinued this product. I'm glad I found one before they were all gone.

Disappointed
The light never worked so I can’t tell the status of my charging batteries. Fully charged or half charged... there’s no way to know.

very useful tool to keep in a bugout bag
Used it to charge batteries already and charged a headlamp I have off the USB, very useful tool to keep in a bugout bag. I am getting three more for my children in the military for when they are in the field.

Very practical device to carry in your backpack. Once batteries are charged you can plug in any USB powered device and charge it. Works as described..
