It’s nice until it stops functioning. I used it once’s and then the next day I went back to use it and the red light wouldn’t come on which is supposed to indicate the heat turning on and it working, but it didn’t cut my ribbon anymore. Even tried replacing the batteries and it just did not work.

I must admit I was a little afraid of how hot it gets. However, please take your time and don’t get distracted because it’s very hot.

This heated ribbon cutter and sealer works great once you get the hang of it. It gives clean sealed edges without fraying. It takes a little time to heat up and cut each ribbon. Not the best option if you have a lot of ribbon to cut, but great for smaller projects.

I opened one of these ribbon cutters new out of the box , inserted 4 new AA batteries and it DID NOT WORK! The 2nd one worked fine. The first one probably had a defective wire. So 1 star for the 1st and 5 stars for the 2nd, comes out to 3 stars.

I usually don’t write reviews, but this time I decided to do so because I felt that this tool must be rated fairly, and deserve a higher rating than it is right now. I am glad I gave it a try, regardless of mixed reviews. It works perfectly, is flawless, gives great results and the price is unbelievably cheap for such an amazing tool! I don't know why some people have negative experiences with this, I strongly believe they don’t read instructions on how to use it properly because if they would, they wouldn’t have any issues with it.

This gadget has saved me so much time. I used up have to cut the ribbon and then put both ribbon edges against a lighter to seal it. Now, the one button does the sealing and cutting at the same time. I have used it with really thick grosgrain and thinner ribbons and it's worked wonderfully. With thicker ribbon, you do need to hold down the button longer. As others mentioned, you have to wait to hear a soft "click" to know that it's been cut. If you don't hear it, keep the button down. About 5-7 seconds for thicker ribbons, 2-3 seconds for thinner ribbons. If there's residue on the wire, press the button with no ribbon inside for 20-30 seconds, and it cleans itself (like self-cleaning oven, it burns off whatever is stuck to it). The burning/sealing does leave a scent from the ribbon material and if you are sensitive to that, then wear a mask or something. I use ribbons on masks that I make, and when an order of 80 masks come in, cutting that many ribbons is no longer a chore.
