New Favourite
Due to arthritis, RSI and general wrist flex discomfort, I researched vertical mice and bought both this and the Logitech MX Vertical Ergo one. Both are comfortable, but this has the edge because it actually fits my hand perfectly and all the extra programmable buttons are in natural reach. You don't have to change your grip, the buttons are where you'd put them yourself. Aesthetics wise, they're as ugly as can be, but you don't buy them for looks. The programmable buttons - by app if you wish - allow you to add shortcuts, making navigation and editing a doddle. And this software makes paying the premium price worth it. It just streamlines everything. I use CorelDRAW and Photoshop extensively, and the precision this mouse offers is excellent. The glossy mirrored surface is questionable and a fingerprint magnet, though. The weight is just right, I like that you can use a standard AA battery. You don't have to worry about it failing and having to charge it every 5 minutes like with my Logitech MS Master1 & 2 after a couple of years of hard usage. It is expensive, but you invariably get what you pay for, as is the case here. You also get storage for the USB dongle - you can connect several ways, under the battery cover, which has been a niggle with the Logitech that they refuse to address. For crying out loud, it's a no brainer to make it harder to lose. The overarching thing with a mouse like this at this price is is it worth it? 3 months in, I can categorically answer that with a resounding yes. And the RSI, arthritis, little finger numbness has gone. Not only is it a great mouse for alleviating pain, but it's a precision pointer for work and streamlining tasks. Works brilliantly for browsing too and general computing. If anyone's on the market for a mouse in this price range, particularly in the creative arena, I'd recommend this mouse whether you have wrist pain or not.

Very high quality vertical mouse
I own 2 of these now, one for work, one for home. They're very helpful with my RSI. The build quality matches the price, I especially liked the magnetic battery compartment cover (no plastic tabs to break off). The build quality has improved greatly since the VerticalMouse C. Despite feeling premium, it's not heavy: most of the mass is in the battery. The driver software is not mandatory, but the buttons are mapped weirdly without it. It's not resource intensive, and it's very useful. I especially like the dedicated settings tab to expose the Excel horizontal scroll feature. The text on that page could do a better job of explaining that turning it on will affect ALL buttons when using Excel, not just the horizontal scroll button. Battery life is excellent, and it's nice it takes the more common 1xAA instead of multiple AAAs. I like that it comes with a AA battery in the box. Also in the box is a USB extension cable (Type A male to Type A female) to help reposition the dongle. The only way they could make it better would be to use a free spinning scroll wheel like Logitech MX has for some of their mice (not the vertical one sadly). The Evoluent driver software can do a similar thing where if you scroll faster it scrolls more lines, but it's not as good. If they released a new model with a free spinning scroll wheel I'd immediately buy two.

Stylish comfy ergo mouse
I've tried a few ergo mice. For my particular problem of a twitchy index from many hours hammering the LMB to shoot at pixels on less ergo mice, it's not best suited - for that, nothing beats the 3M with the thumb click button. On this mouse, the thumb buttons are too far apart and require too much travel to be useful alternatives (maybe you can keep it close to one of them). You also need to use Xmouse to reconfigure the buttons because the evoluent driver isn't very configurable. This mouse is like most ergonomic mice, specifically for keeping the hand straight upright to prevent you twisting your tendons and causing my sort of condition in the first place. This is a really comfy, luxurious, solid-feeling mouse. It's heavy but glides well, has such a good-feeling grip position and rest to keep your smallest digit dragging on the mouse mat. Despite it being smooth (read that as won't wear out in 5 mins or get quite as grubby) you won't easily lose grip of it. If I do play games with it, it loses out a bit, and I think that's mainly down to weight and sensitivity - I think the laser resolution would need to be higher on it. You won't manage long gaming sessions with it. I use a number of different mice, and switching to this one, it always catches me that there are 3 buttons plus the mousewheel button combo - and it catches out software too (I had to reset the middle button in some games because it didn't seem to be configured). The magnetic battery compartment panel is very novel. Although I think there are cheaper ergos out there that are functionally equivalent, they don't have the same feel of quality as this - dare I call it a manager's mouse? :D

Great mouse
Great mouse with a sleek design. Its perfect if you've suffered with RSI or carpal tunnel as it allows your arm to be kept in an upright and perfect ergonomic position.

Do NOT Buy
Helped reduce the pain in my hand and arm, due to the shape. However, accuracy poor; has three buttons not two which is confusing and illogical; requires a large desk to move around, which is tiring; and has stopped working (none of the buttons work) after three months. DO NOT BUY. Amazon are refusing to refund me for this inferior product!

5 stars in ergonomical domain if it fits your hand. Mismatch is a problem. İt comes in three size. Mine is M and it is small for me. I now realize that I should have ordered size ML (which does not exist).
