Challenging
For the students I work with it was just too hard.

Typos and weird font
I have gotten 3 different volumes of these books to work with a couple of my kids. They are really great... but there have been a number of typos: Missing words, missing letters, missing punctuation and other random things. Also, the "k" looks odd in this font. Thankfully my kids haven't had a problem with it, but I would imagine it could cause confusion for some struggling readers.

Not decodable at all
The word decodable needs to be removed from this book as does the word Orton-Gillingham because this book is neither. I've already initiated my return. I should have read the reviews first. These passage are completely unusable for my students. Terrible. Just terrible.

Frustrating
This book is confusing for my son who has dyslexia. The k’s are a cross between a punted and a cursive K. He gets very frustrated when reading and writes it as an r every time.

Don’t waste your money!
I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this book. The first thing I noticed, as others mentioned, was the font that made the “k” look like a cursive “r”. Since 4 of the 6 blends included “k”, it would have been impossible to white out every one of them. Ironically, there is a LEGAL NOTICE at the beginning of the book saying that nothing is to be amended without the consent of the author!! The more I looked through the book, the more disappointed I became after seeing MULTIPLE errors in capitalization, punctuation and grammar. In addition, the passages for the 1- minute timed readings are long, difficult, and do not include instructions for how to count errors. I’m guessing that the author did not bother to edit or revise the passages. Very disappointing!

Good idea but..
What’s with the font? The K’s look cursive and is confusing to kids learning to read!
