These work quite well, and as they are pretty much the only option for a cartridge for this pen. The ink itself is a nice dark shade of blue, which I prefer it seems to dry relatively quickly. I’ve not had any problems with them leaking. One thing that I do like is the fact that they have a much larger capacity than most other ink cartridge. I wish that they had a more varied selection of colors however. If you purchase a converter, then this is no longer a problem however, I do like having cartridges for a quick fill as I use this pen a lot when I’m out and about, and it is not always convenient to carry a bottle of ink with you. That being said, they work well and decent value value for the money

I have been using two LAMY fountain pens simultaneously for a little over three years now. I have had the best of experience when suddenly both pens stopped writing. I was a way from my office for three weeks.When I got back the LAMY'S WOULD NOT WRITE. They we both like a dry wells. I cleaned them up, soaked them in warm water for 48 hours but nothing helps. Either thee is something wrong with the pens or the cartridges are defective. I checked the cartridges before inserting and I got some ink out of them but the LAMY pens will not write well, not a smooth flow of ink at all. Would appreciate some ADVICE. Thank you all.

I received 2 Lamy fountain pens as gifts and I love them! I love the ink too; Lamy ink is smooth, clear, and bright (best of all, it comes in various colors!) The refill cartridges are super easy to replace: unscrew the top of pen, remove the old cartridge, replace with the new cartridge, screw the top of the pen back on until you feel the cartridge being "pierced" by the top of the nib & you're all set!! I love the diverse array of colors. I'm a teacher, so I use one pen with this blue ink for personal notes, signing docs, professional purposes, etc. & and I use the other pen with more vivid inks, like purple, teal, and red for giving feedback to students. Overall, the quality of the ink is very good -- it dries quickly enough to avoid smearing, but is still bold in color. While the ink does bleed through on thinner paper (something to consider for writing on two sides of lines paper, for example), it works great on higher quality paper or for single sided writing purposes. I've purchased several Lamy cartridges over the past year and I've been satisfied with all of them. Other than the bleed through on thin paper, the reason for my 4 / 5 stars is because I tend to go through 2-3 cartridges per week for a single pen since this is the primary pen I use. Still, the value is good and the quality of the ink is what makes this a worthy purchase.

These are great cartridges that are so well designed. They don't drip or leak at all while in the pen and you're writing, and they don't drip or leak while you're putting a new one into the pen as a refill. It goes along with the great design of the calligraphy pen for which I bought it. I love both of them. When two of my students, all of whom have learning disabilities, saw how the pen wrote, they wanted to learn how to write in cursive. I let them work on their cursive for which I bought books for them, when they focus during their lesson. They did so well that I bought them each a calligraphy pen and two boxes of these great refills as a reward for their diligence. They take more notes in classes now, writing in cursive, and keeping their cartridges nearby in case they need them. They are simple to use and insert into the pen, which is why I liked them for these students. Nothing complicated. No mess. No leaks. Just great cartridges that started a revolutionary move in my students. All because of the way they saw me put these cartridges into my own calligraphy pen! How much better a recommendation can you get than that?

For the Lamy pens its an excellent value and size.

I bought this package of cartridges for a red Lamy Safari fountain pen that I purchased for grading student papers. It's a classic red color, and writes relatively smoothly on copier paper (though there are smoother inks out there). A good proprietary cartridge.

My job involves extensive note taking and I can burn through one of these cartridges in three days. But the ink is such a beautiful shade of blue (bright, peppy) and I can refill the pen mid-conversation because they are so easy to install. Coupled with my sleek Lamy CP1 fine nib, it’s the best writing experience I’ve ever had. My handwriting looks striking on the page and 30 percent better than when I use any other pen/ink combo. Also, with the right syringe, these cartridges can be refilled with ink for 2-3 more uses.
