One of my favorite camp mess-kit accessories is a CRKT titanium "battle spork", but it falls short, quite literally, when eating right out of a can or MRE bag or freeze dried meal bag. The Tapirus spork solves the short utensil issue very well. The length is perfect for getting to the bottom of an MRE or freeze dried bag without digging your hand in there and getting all messy.While there are some really good titanium long handle sporks that are definitely lighter, this is still pretty light weight for the features it offers. I like the small knife although I did have to put more of an edge on it and the ferro rod is a well-intentioned touch. I thought about knocking a star because of the ferro rod, but it isn't bad enough to detract from the whole tool. The issue is that the knife and ferro rod do not work well together for consistent sparks. Using my Outdoor Element Scout Feather, I got much better results with the rod - I think the included knife just has too small of a section with the right blade geometry to get a consistent spark.Overall, this is a great set for the cost. Well-made, versatile, and lightweight, this is a great addition to the hiking/camping kit.

When I found this on Amazon I was skeptical 🤨.I ordered a couple to see for myself. They are high quality for what they are. I was most impressed that the stainless steel knife inside, is actually coated to prevent corrosion. The handle is long enough for dehydrated meal containers. Each unit comes with a flint steel that I would rarely use, but comes in handy should you really need one.The knife BTW is serrated and stiff. It won’t bend during normal use. All and all I would recommend them to others for any of their outdoor kit. I’ll be ordering a few more for myself again soon.

I gave these out as stocking staffers for Christmas and everybody loved them. Got some more for my lunch box and for my camping/ bushcrafting pack. These sporks are big, thick, and very high quality, like military grade quality. The serated knife works well for when you need to cut a steak or whatever around a campfire. The Firestarter works well for its size and I did manage to start a fire with some fluff. Every piece snaps in positively and I don't think they'll come apart by accident. The sporks come with a nifty lanyard and nylon bag so no worries of losing one. I think for the money you can't go wrong with these and I would recommend to anyone needing to keep an eating utensil closeby. Never know when you might need a spork.

I love this thing so much, I bought it twice. Just buy the two pack👍🏻. There must have been some residual food smell after my last adventure because my dog chewed the hell out of it 😡.But definitely functional. I liked that I could use the feral rod to light my burners. The utensil length is also very helpful to get into those freeze dried packages, and cleanup is really easy.I haven't had the issue yet but I always am concerned with water getting into the container where you store your knife or the Ferro rod. Hasn't happened yet but doesn't mean it won't, if you get food in that area I'm sure it would be a nightmare to get it out or clean it properly.

Such a cool little 3 in 1 product. The spork is nice and sturdy. The knife slips into the spork handle so it’s safe to carry and it has some good serrations. And the farro rod slips into the bottom of the knife handle. It’s a nice long design and really lightweight.

First off let me say I use a spork for camping and travel. I also keep one in my G H B & B O B (get home bag & bug out bag). I own quite a few sporks, some cheap and others not so much. They are often one of my go to stocking stuffers. So as part of my review, I am going to compare what I consider to be two of the best tactical sporks available at a reasonable price. The Ka-Bar all plastic and Tapirus. The Ka-Bar is smaller in every way and the serrated knife portion is plastic. This means that it is easier to pack, would be less likely to be consider a weapon. As an eating instrument the smaller spork portion and shorter length is somewhat of a disadvantage. The Tapirus larger size offers significant benefits as an eating instrument. The slightly larger stainless steel knife I consider a nice upgrade and adding the fire starter was an unexpected plus. While the price point is a little lower for the Ka-Bar, I am giving the nod to the Tapirus Tactical Spork. For camping the Tapirus is better in nearly every way. When traveling I will probably still toss in the Ka-Bar Spork. While long handle titanium sporks are a little lighter the overall usefulness of the Tapirus spork still make it the better choice. The Tapirus spork is a great choice for campers and backpackers.
