Best Spatula in the World
Wow! I wish I had had a spatula like this years ago! It's light, won't scratch your pans, has an edge that is thin enough to actually pry underneath food and a base wide and long enough (and strong enough) to lift food without causing it (or the food around it) to break apart! I've used it for dishing out pies, lasagna, fried rice, eggs, cookies and casseroles too. Then, as if that were not enough... something I never considered... the handle of the spatula has a lip on it so that when you set the spatula down in the pan it will not slide into the pan! Genious, really! I will buy more... actually would be a good stocking stuffer for the grown kids although, if they are grown and living in their own home, then why is Santa still filling a stocking for them in my home? I guess Santa didn't get that memo.... must resend!

Nice utensil.
I've been obsessing about spatula's lately. I don't really have a good one and have been muddling along with Walmart & KMart stuff. They work fine but I was looking for something better. So, I took the shotgun approach and bought three of 'em on Amazon. This was number three. Sizing things online is sometimes misleading even when dimensions are available. I bought the 12-inch one. The length is actually 11.75 inches. The other dimensions were not given so here they are: the spatula portion is 6.75" long tapering diagonally to 5.5". Width starts at 2.25" and increases to about 3.25" toward the tip. The last 1 7/8's of the spatula is angled upward and diagonally about 15 degrees or so. This is handy for removing deep fried stuff or fried anything from a frying pan. I like the size and ergonomics of it. Any smaller or shorter and it would be useless. I'll be using this one quite a bit. Kitchen utensils are like guns and guitars: ya never have enough!! This one's a keeper.

MY FAVORITE ALL PURPOSE SPATULA
I had one of these for years and it was missing, purchased these two spatulas and they work very well for just about any type of everyday pan frying. They flip my eggs over with ease and unlike a lot of spatulas they don't over bend but they flex just right, so important when you are cooking eggs, pancakes, etc.

This is a good spatula, but I have found ones that are better.
I purchased six different turning spatulas from Amazon at the same time. Each of them came recommended is "the best" turning spatula buy whatever review I was reading at the time. This one was one of the best three. I liked it because it's bent on the flat side which makes it easier to get under the pancakes. I think the review site for this one may have been America's test kitchen, but I'm not certain. It's angled of the tip which is an improvement over non-angled ones because then you can use it more easily from the side. But I didn't find it as easy to use from the side because it was still relatively wide. And rigid. The edge is also fairly thick, sicker then to the other models, and sicker than I would want it to be to get under food especially pancakes as easily as possible. The handle has a protruding edge where it meets with the head of the spatula which is designed to keep one part of the spatula off of the countertop when you put down. The problem is that the part that keeps off the counter is the handle and not the head. That doesn't make any sense to me from the cleanliness perspective though it does make it easier to pick up. So I do consider this to be a good design decision. That being said that protruding edge also melted on me a little, and is now sharp, which hurts my thumb when I run it over it. I've only use the spatula once or maybe twice, so I'm not sure how it already melted, especially since that is the only part that is melted. That leads me to believe that it may have been delivered this way. But this is a good turning spatula and one that's worth getting if you don't have one already. If you do have one already, or looking to upgrade, I recommend the Norpro 99 My Favorite or the Matfer Bourgeat Exoglass Pelton.

Great fish spatula
I've been looking for the perfect fish spatula. I have thrown quite a few in the trash for various reasons. I recently purchased this one and a Racheal Ray set. This one is great. It is stiff enough to flip a burger, wide enough to flip a fish filet and thin enough to get under a fried egg. My only minor issue is that the utensil is perfectly straight and would be better with an offset to the handle. I would buy this again.

I want to love this spatula but so far its not what I had hoped. Although it does seem like a nice quality it s a litttle too heavy for me and I would prefer more of an angled handle. I think it may grow on me over time so I will update this review after I have used it a little more. So far its just okay.

Oh fish flipper, where has thou been all my life?
We were looking to replace our 20-year-old nylon "fish flipper" with a new one. The old angled slotted spatula had survived countless grilled cheese sandwiches, pan-seared fish fillets, taco-nights of ground beef, and don'wanna cook nights shifting pizza rolls and chicken nuggets from cookie sheet to plate. The new one HAD to be able to withstand the same, and I feel certain that this Norpro spatula will not disappoint. I wasn't sure about it at first, being a slightly different shape, but I can hold it exactly the same ways I held the other (which is not always by the handle...). It feels sturdier in the hand, and the bar across the bend in it, makes it feel even sturdier. I'd recommend it to all of my cuisine-savvy friends, and I'd even give one to my mom. My own mom, who's as picky about her cooking tools as I am -- maybe even pickier. If you're not sure about THIS fish flipper, I say spend the couple of bucks and give this one a try, and I'm sure you'll be glad you did. It's not a refrigerator or kitchen range, and you're not making a lifetime commitment... but that said, if you WANT to keep it around for a long time, I think it'll hold up great. Happy cooking!
