Lascar EL-USB-1-LCD Temperature Data Logger with LCD

The datalogger itself worked perfectly! The software is very user-friendly, intuitive, and with no problems installing on my Windows 7 system. If I had any complaint, it would be that the battery is not a standard size you can buy at the local store at midnight. But, it can be ordered from the company at a reasonable price. I have purchased one of the less expensive dataloggers (Elitech RC-4) a few months ago, which was a nightmare to use, not very intuitive, and didn't record data reliably. Wish I had spent the extra and bought this Lascar first! World of difference.------- Update July 2018 ------Still earning 5 stars today! Haven't replaced the battery yet and we're reaching two years. I use this to monitor a medication refrigerator with a log recorded every 15 minutes in an environment that averages 46F (8C). Only thing I wish it'd do is scream a loud alarm or display a *bright* red warning LED until the battery died if the temperature exceeds a limit for a specified period of time. Right now, you just have to see if the green LED is doing something in red instead --- have to make a point of looking at it before grabbing a medication vial versus it blaring at you. The software is great and I really like the type of reports it generates. I can export raw data or a well-presented pdf.Buying another one today for a totally different environment, but thought I'd update how the first one was doing.

Good product to use of your tenants are putting in hot cold requests often. The product can narrow it down to mechanical or technical issue depending on the trend you set it to. The longer the better in my opinion. Produces more data for better analysis. Thanks!Pricey though I must say.

These are great loggers, I recommend them to all of our technicians at Priority Appliance Service. We use these all the time in domestic refrigeration to trap intermittent problems and monitor hard to catch symptoms. The software is very easy to use. Just dont leave them logging when not in actual use, will kill the battery and will be unusable just when you need it. We have had only one die in maybe 25 units. We also use the thermocouple logger for logging oven temperatures, on oven temp complaints this is the ticket!

Great product, super easy software. But the temps read a few degrees off (consistent though) so u have to factor that in.UPDATE: It's more accurate than I thought. They sent me a new unit that was tested, but it still seemed to be off when testing a freezer unit. But they asked me if I had the cap on it and I said no, but didnt think it would make a difference. Well it does, and now the unit is within 1 degree of another digital thermometer. And in any case it was always consistent.I have to say this is a VERY cool product and I have used to to plot my attic temps, fridge, and freezer over many days and the info is very useful.

Sometimes it wouldn't mount to the computer the first time it was connected. We did send two in a separate packages to track the temperature of different insulation. One didn't record the temperatures at all, the other did fine. We have been using it 24/7 to track the factory floor temperatures, but it just died last week. We replaced the battery, still dead. For the price we spent, we're not happy.

This certainly was easly enough to set up and take data but I programmed it to record for the next 8 months and will not get data until next year--I am an early adopter and this looks like a good device to "adopt" if you are looking to see how hot or cold something gets over a certain time period.....

Works as advertised. I really like this tool. Keeps me up to date on my wood stove operation.

Worked for a few months and stopped. There is no area to file for a warranty issue and no phone number to contact.
