Most dependable mug I’ve bought so far
In the last few I’ve lost count, how many different brands of cordless coffee cups and mugs i’ve bought, a few needed coasters, a few had self contained batteries. The $129. Travel Ember was the first, that had a coaster & had around one hour battery life at best, and it lasted the longest, until I accidentally put it in the microwave, and that was the end of that. But they wanted almost $200 to replace it, and I didn’t want to pay that much. And that began a long saga, of purchasing more reasonably priced assorted coffee cups and mugs. And though I tried to find an American made cup or mug, I couldn’t find one, and so I was forced to purchase mugs and cups from China, not that I’m prejudiced, I don’t care where it’s made, and some of them looked high quality, as did the packaging they came in. But you can’t judge a book by its cover, and one after another, they would all eventually quit working. Until this one, named, Smart Mugg. And I don’t know how long ago I bought it, but it’s been quite a while ago now, and it has a long battery, life, and knock on wood, it’s still working. But I probably shouldn’t have given this good review on it, because any time I might brag on anything, which is rare, it puts a curse on it, and it instantly lays down on me. Although there is one flaw that I don’t like, but not enough to return it, and chance the next one, not working at all. But it’s not a big deal, as long as you don’t lose the chord, but at the end of the night, when I shut it off, it’s not going to start again without a chord. And one last thing that I forgot, until I got familiar with it, I had trouble figuring out the controls, and couldn’t even get to shut off. And the directions are not really accurate either, it will shut off after three taps, but it’s not necessary to tap it three times, to restart it, just one press.

I’m a sipper, long lasting battery life
My husband bought this for me and I love it. I sip my coffee and usually drink 2 cups during the day. I would heat my coffee multiple time through out the morning in the microwave. This mug keeps my coffee at 137 degrees for hours. We RV travel a lot for long hours. We usually stop at McDonals in the morning for breakfast and medium coffees. Usually about a half hour down the road the coffee is no longer hot. I like my coffee hot. With this mug it keeps my coffee at 137 degrees (that is my set point, yours may be different). This mug holds 10 ounces. A McDonalds medium coffee is 16 ounces. I can fill the mug and when the mug gets low on coffee I just add the rest of the cold coffee from the McDonals paper cup and the Smarttmug almost instantly heats my coffee to 137 degrees. The flip top keeps the coffee from splashing out as we drive down the road. The mouth piece makes it easy to sip coffee and not worrying about bumps in the road. The mug will fit any drink holder in any vehicle. The battery life is great. I have never run the battery down to zero. I have used the mug for over 8 hours and still had one to two bars of battery power left. The only downside is the display is very hard to see in the sunlight and the operating instructions are not clear the first time using it.

Does not hold enough liquid
Love the idea and design but it just doesn’t hold enough liquid. Obviously you know how much it’s going to hold when you buy it, but it just isn’t enough to warrant the purchase.

Best way to keep coffee hot (150 degrees) all day
Very pleased with this purchase. The controls take a while getting used to, but once you figure out that the instructions are misleading, you'll get it. Takes a while to charge, and it doesn't heat at the same time it's charging. I use mine until the coffee is gone, then wash it and put it on the charger. Best smart mug I've found (I have some other brands that I just don't use any more). Best set-up is to have two mugs! BTW, be sure to preheat the mug, it will keep your beverage hot a lot longer that way.

The company stands behind this mug
This is an updated version of my happy review of the past. I got ten good months from the mug. Loved it, esp. riding all winter in the cold, it did great! Here and there it would get funky though. For instance a few times the settings got changed or power would go off by holding it to take a sip. But the end seems to have come now. It turns on but won't heat and if slow tapped to change the temp setting, it just goes to the battery icon with TEMP below it...then turns off. Their customer service has tried to help but being their suggestions haven't worked and the return period has expired, I'm afraid the bottom line is that it's way too expensive for ten months service.Update! SMRTMUGG asked me to send my mug back for either a repair or replacement and included a return address label. I'm hopeful whatever the warranty is, that it covers the cost. It may just yet be a great buy. We'll see... Thanks Chris at MSRTMUGG!Last update! SMRTMUGG sent me a new replacement for the broken mug. Perfect!!!

Falls apart very fast
Purchased this mug back in December 2023 (3.5 months ago) and has only been used since January. It appears to already be rusting on the bottom (inside) and the coating on the outside is starting to rub off (only hand washed). These pictures are after scrubbing it with hot water and dish soap multiple times in a row. You can find A LOT better heating mugs than this one that DONT start rusting and falling apart within 3-4 months of buying and using it. Highly recommend looking at other options over this one.
