I bought the upgraded solar fountain with rechargeable battery back up. It took a few days for it to be consistent with cloudy skies or sun down. The 16.5ft long cord from the pump to panel is a great for our greenhouse patio where sun is not consistent. Just move from one end to the other where the sun gets blocked from the building shadow. It comes with a stake and the panel angle is adjustable. Easy to put together and came with multiple sprinkle or spouting disc's to change up the spray.The in sun water spray height is very nice. As the skies get cloudy and sun goes down, it does reduce the spray power but keeps going at about half height ( pic #2 is cloudy most of day taken after 6pm).So far, it does not run through the night yet it runs longer than any without the battery. It helps prevent standing water bug issues and adds a nice soft water feature noise to the area.Have had this a week and am very happy I went with the upgraded model. Perfect addition for a wide galvanized wash tub pond I am growing mini water locusts in.We love utilizing solar lights and to find a small solar water pump for the mini pond feature that works this well, deserves a rave posting. Great value and quality for the money.Yes, I do wish it would continue through the night for those weekend gatherings. But for the price, the quality exceeds what we expected. We are ordering one for my mom so she can have a little pond water feature on her balcony with her plants and not worry about power cords.

I've used this fountain in a 1 gallon bird bath almost all year, including during the winter on days over about 30F. The only thing I did was unplug it from the solar panel when it was getting dark because the water inside would freeze around the impeller. Then I'd pour warm water in the bird bath in the morning, plug it back in, and it would be fine.Only one of the nozzles worked for our bird bath - all the others sprayed the water onto the ground.I will say that I clean the bird bath every single day. On the rare occasion that the bath has stopped working, I've removed the filter case, and it's almost always a large seed hull jamming up the impeller. So I'd say that keeping it clean likely will extend its life.The only negative: the filter completely disintegrated several months ago so I'm using one from a different fountain. I'm going to try to contact the seller to see if they sell replacements.

This is a great little water fountain. I made a planter and wanted to put a water feature inside so this was perfect. It's very powerful so better for bigger projects but I just love it. It has suction cups on the bottom so sticks well and also has led lights so at night it looks so cool. Would reccomend this over solar .

Update: lowered to one start as the pump died after about eight weeks.First the good: This is an excellent pump with good power - if anything the head pressure is a bit too much (see "flaws" below). The cord is high quality and long enough to place the solar panel in a sunny spot. The panel and battery work very well with a steady flow even on a cloudy day. I really appreciated the water level sensor that keeps the pump from running dry - these pumps usually end up draining a smaller bird bath as the wind blows the spray out of the bowl. When this happens the pump will be protected.The flaws, and there are a few: The pump is too strong and the spray will end up landing outside smaller bird bath bowls. An adjustable flow rate would have been appreciated at this price. The pump doesn't work well in deeper (two inch) bowls. The spray head ends up below the surface of the water and the spray pattern doesn't break the surface well. Including a simple extension piece, as many solar bird bath fountains do, would have helped significantly. Without an extension, six of the seven spray heads are worthless in a moderately filled bowl. On the plus side, this uses the same pump riser diameter as most other solar fountains so I was able to borrow a piece from a previous pump. The biggest flaw, and it's a show-stopper, is that the water filter holder is poorly designed. The pump has a small square of filter material keeping plant debris from being sucked into the impeller - this is a good idea for an outdoor pump. Unfortunately the holder for the filter block is open at the top. Either the filter floats out when the pump is off or a curious bird steals the block - either way the pump quickly becomes blocked without a filter. Fortunately the package includes extra filters but after losing two filters in two days, I had to fashion a wire cage around the filter holder to keep from losing the filter. Designing the filter holder to properly retain the filter could have solved this issue but instead the customer will have to devote time finding a way to keep the filter in place. This is very disappointing for a pump in this price range.

I have this fountain in a bird bath on my balcony. It's been great all summer. You have to break everything down & clean it out periodically, but that's expected. I like the different nozzles & being able to change up the spray. They will clog with dirt though, so wash them with a brush to clean out the holes. The solar panel works great on my south facing balcony & it has a long cord so you can tuck it out of sight away from the fountain. It's bougie on a budget. Would recommend.

Works fine in full sun, but doesn't work at all when cloud covers it or when shade falls on it. I expected it to at least work with partially cloudy days with the back up battery. It said in description and other reviews it would. But it doesn't. Somewhat disappointed. The only good thing is it does work well with a fountain when the sun is on it. That is the only reason why I gave it three stars.For the price and by the description and reviews I had expected it to have some charge to work for a little bit in cloud cover or shade. But it completely stops in shade and when the sun is blocked by clouds. I could have gotten something cheaper that does the same thing

I chose this fountain for the long cord length and the reviews said it ran in cloudy weather because of the storage. It works as described and at a good price.

This does exactly what I wanted; a pump that will circulate the water in our bird bath so that we don't get insect larvae growing in it. I enjoy the fountain aspect more than I thought I would. The cord for the solar panel is long so I was able to place the solar panel in an area that always is stays bright and just bury the cord. The solar panel is glass so it should last a lot longer than plastic ones. The pump turns on and off during the day and the battery seems to keep it working when the light isn't as bright. It's not a powerful pump but it's exactly what I needed for a shallow bird bath.

Love the colors and all the choices for spraying. I do have to keep it on low for the size of my container, but this would be awesome in a large pond. It also creates a very zen sound. It was a cheap alternative to a new fountain.

It worked great for a few days but then it just stopped doing anything. I’ve troubleshoot anything I could think of and still no luck. Have to return.

We're impressed with the strength of the pump. The batteries are holding a charge from the solar panel and operates during the night. Held back one star only because nothing is perfect, although it seems to be, so far

This is my third solar pump and so far the best. Small pump that fits inside my birdbath and doesn’t float around. The filter is on the outside so I just clean it and put it back in. Only once in about three weeks I have had to clean the whole unit and that is only because I have tons of robins in this birdbath.
