An Extraordinary Story
Moon Flower by Christina Lee was a surprise and an unusual read. And such an interesting book with many parallels to our present-day world. Different from her other books. The world-building is incredible, the story is alive with imagination and I loved the fantasy/historical feel to it.The old England era is woven into the story making it further interesting as to how difficult it was for Gay men to be themselves and lived in fear of their life and of being found out. Galen in order to survive on the streets sold his body for food. He was attacked and beaten up and left in an alley by a customer. He was found by two angels, the twins Wren and Sparrow, who took him to Moon Flower a home where boys like Galen are given shelter. Moon Flower is a place where men can have privacy to be together or to engage in the services of a young man. Hats off to Madam Langly for having such a safe environment and running an establishment for the boys. The young men at Moon Flower all have a story, mostly sad. I love the characters in this story. And it's full of romantic dreams for Azrael and Galen with herbology and apothecaries, small villages and bawdy houses, railways, and open fields,I fell in love with Galen and Azriel, and their innocent love affair and cheered for them when they could be free to live their lives on their terms after moving out of Lunar's Reach due to an incident and an outbreak of a deadly virus and to live a safe and free life thanks to Mr. Blackburn's generosity. Galen's gift of seeing auras on people and reading their feelings was an added interest to the storyline. Easy to read page-turner full of sweetness and love and lots of emotional moments, and some light angst.

Such romance between them
Moon flower is a place where men can have privacy to be together or to engage in the services of a young man. Galen has come to Moon Flower after being beaten badly. He has to work off his debt. While in Moon Flower Galen meets Azrael an apothecary apprentice.I loved this story. The young men at Moon Flower all have a story, mostly sad. Galen being brutally attacked and then still in the same town as his attacker is scary. I love the characters in this story. It's full of romantic dreams for Azrael and Galen. Sadness for Mr. Blackburn. Such a great story.

Fast schon poetisch
"I choose you" swoon!

A Fantasy, a Mystery, a Romance...Very Well Done!
This was such an interesting book...a historical fantasy...with many parallels to our present day world...and our history.Members of the LGBTQ community are in danger. A plague crosses the land. Those in positions of power use it to further their own agendas. The ending was beautiful. You'll fall in love with Wren and Sparrow. And you'll hold your breath as a healer and an artist fall in love...despite the danger it puts them in.Book 2 is highly anticipated by this reader!

A beautiful fantasy tale
I love a story with a fantasy element - our world, but not quite and this was lovely. A little angst.a time when it wasn't approved off for men to be together, and two men who were just destined for each others future. A beautiful peace of writing, which left me eager for stories about the other characters.
