First off, let me just say I have only used the Koo-Care as a heating therapy for my back. I have a separate large ice pack that I use specifically for my lower back. So this very positive review is for the "heat" function of the pack. A bit of history....I have had back issues and sporatic spasms across various areas of the back for the past 8 years. For the moist heat, I used to use a pack from Champ called the HOT WRAP....less stores carried it, and eventually you could only get it directly from the manufacturer, and then 2 years ago, they stopped selling it altogether. The pack was nice but prone to leaking after numerous uses. When my supply ran out, I started doing some research for a replacement. I saw positive reviews on Amazon and bought the KOO-CARE large pad. Heated in the microwave for about 40-45 seconds, and it works just great. The pack has dependable velcro straps and even comes with an extender strap. I didn't need the extra piece, but the velcro straps keep the pad in place comfortably, and you can move around with the pack located on your back or shoulder. I place it on my tshirt, as you want to avoid putting it directly on your skin. It lasts the right amount of time and the pack is a nice large size with gel pretty evenly distributed. Ok, so I loved the pack so much, I ordered another one. Last week my grand daughter had a sore spot by her shoulder, so I gave her my spare. She said it really felt nice and soothing and her pain was gone after a few days. When I gave her my spare, I went to order another pad, and saw a really good price on Amazon, so I ordered two. I am so happy with the Koo-Care and it gets used multiple times throughout the day. Again, I can't speak for the COOL fuction, but as a mobile moist heating pad, it exceeds my expectations. The price was right, the shipping was fast, and I love this product.

My preference is to use them as a cold compress, so I ordered two of them, so if one is being used, there is another one in the freezer to take it's place when I switch them out. They have an amazing waist band, that stretches to fit me and stays there. I always use a small towel to wrap around it so that it's not too cold against my skin. Right now, I've been suffering with a bad case of Shingles, and having these has been a great help to me, especially at night. Thank you for a very good and reliable product.

I bought this product specifically so I could use it at work. I sweat a lot at work and so I thought this might last me a couple of hours. It is very cold when you first take it out of the freezer. It feels nice for a while and the strap holds well. But I noticed I had to put it back in the freezer after the twenty minute drive to work. Then got it out of the freezer and put it back in periodically. So it's not the greatest in keeping cold during sweaty situations, but it did provide some on job pain relief and kept me more cool than normally. On a regular day, when I'm not at work, it works very well. Lasting for maybe an hour and a half or a little longer.

I just purchased this ice pack for my brother with mobility issues. He can flip it to his shoulder and slid it to the right place. It seems strong and sturdy. He hopes to be able to use the strap as well.

This ice pack is very comfortable. I tried other ice packs on my lower back and I was thrilled to find this product. It quickly cools enough to freeze the tissues and muscles that need attention. The ice pack is filled with a soft gel material that stays very cold for quite a while. There is also a band attached that goes around the waist and even has an extra extension piece for larger waist lines. The band has a very strong velcro to hold the band in place. You can walk around with it without worrying about it slipping or falling off. Also great for any other body part. This is a good quality product and I highly recommend it.

This is the 2nd version of a large wrapping ice pack I have purchased, the 1st one about a month ago from a different manufacturer. I was very happy with my original purchase from another seller, but this was recommended to me. This is another level of "well designed" products, which I sometimes learn when replacing a well used item at home. What I found was Koo-Care has several really good points to share. I will call my original buy a standard, which I have looked around and it is a very good standard product. This version from Koo-Care is much nicer, the bag is more pliable when cold, it is a softer somewhat thicker waterproof material, in comparison when your hold them both you can feel the difference. Even better, this Koo-Care brand has more gel filling, it's thicker and so will last longer out of the freezer where it counts. One last detail is the belt. It is just a bit wider and has a bonus length of matching belt that can be added to stretch around larger body parts or to simply re-enforce the pack for someone active or feeling like it might slip from a shoulder, which was my thought. I learned you can run the 2nd belt over or around a shoulder to help the stay in place- nice touch I thought when I figured what it could be used for. I recommend this as an "above standard" ice therapy wrap if you are looking for something that is not really more costly, but has some benefits over the usual wrap pack. Because of the upgraded materials I think this may provide longer wear as well.

Makes it easy with directions on the ice pack of how to use hot or cold. Easy to adjust and fit into place right where you need it with strong Velcro on the straps and includes an extension if needed. Stays in the right place to ice my bulging disk while I am at work or out and about. Stays flexible when frozen and retains the cold for a long time.

The belt cools off fast but importantly it is strong enough to hold other freezer packs in place to relieve pain
