Thoughtfully Designed, Thoroughly Tested At Bhold, we created product design that is rapid prototyped with 3D printing and beta tested by our first-of-its-kind Bhold Labs community. Our unique approach ensures each product is as thoughtfully designed as can be. Each product may go through anywhere between 38 to over 100 versions before completion. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Optimized Acoustic Speaker How did you come up with the idea for this product? When I started Bhold, I wanted to design products that solve problems in our everyday life in order to have the most long-term positive impact. One day, I saw a friend put his phone into a cup for music and thought, it does sound louder, but the acoustics are terrible. I set out to work on creating a much better alternative that is versatile enough to be used at home or in the office. What makes your product special? There's no plugging, pairing or charging needed as it works using natural acoustics. The Bheard went through over 50 prototype versions through rapid prototyping with 3D printing and thorough beta testing before arriving at its now final design. The Bheard Sound Pod also doubles as a beautiful phone stand or home accent piece and will add to any room in your home. After its initial introduction, the Bheard has been selected by museum stores such as the New Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Arts and Design and the MIT Museum. Press coverage on my unique design process has included Entrepreneur, The New York Times and Forbes. What has been the best part of your startup experience? When I hear from customers that a year after they've purchased a Bhold product, they're still using it every day, that makes my day and my design career worth it. Many have also recommended or gifted Bhold's designs to family and friends, which to me is the utmost compliment. Statistics show that 99% of products are no longer used 6 months after they are purchased. I want Bhold to be a part of the 1% that continues to serve you long after your purchase.
