Great pedal.
Does what a wah is supposed to do. My only gripe is I would prefer a activation button as opposed to having the wah kick in when you step on the pedal. Like you can with most guitar wahs.

Astounding Pedal.
I was very pleased with both the pedal itself and it's housing and also with the control of the tones that can be produced with it.I'll start by saying it is one durable piece of equipment being made out of metal and it feels so solid, definitely road worthy.Having the variable Q dial is fantastic, letting you reel in the balance between getting those really warm, classic sounding lower mids and the over the top, screaming highs. Not needing to turn it on by tapping the toe, like most other "wah wah" pedals do, is very useful, allowing you to get in and out very quickly, and there is an internal dial to change the decay rate when you release the pedal back into heal position.I have already gotten many hours or enjoyment playing with it, both on my Peavey P-bass and my Fender USA guitar, and I think I may end up dedicating a permanent place for it on my pedal board. Yet another fantastic job done by Jim Dunlop.

If you want something that you know is going to work: get this.
Unfortunately us bassists don't have many options when it comes to wah pedals, but this is certainly the best, most trusted option among those few we have. I've seen some guys using other wah pedals with their basses, and those pedals always seem very finicky, forcing them to figure out certain tricks and setups for it to work correctly. Even then, they might only get the effect out of the bottom-most strings. That is not the case with the Dunlop; it will work on all of your strings, in any tuning, etc. This is because the Dunlop is BUILT FOR BASS GUITAR, so all you need to do is hook it up and play. However, the pedal needs to be powered: either with a 9-volt battery, or a compatible power supply (it comes with neither of these things, so be prepared). Other than that, it's sturdily constructed, it sounds excellent and opens up a huge amount of new, creative ways to play your instrument. NOTE: if you're looking to play some of Cliff Burton's crazy Metallica bass solos, or Geezer Butler's intro on Black Sabbath's "N.I.B."--The Dunlop will allow you to do so.

An Improvement On The Original
I had an original Cry Baby Wah, where you had to use a screwdriver to remove the base plate in order to change the battery. The new model has a plastic battery bay which makes battery changes a snap with no tools required. The volume and tone controls on the side are also appreciated. Crank the tone all the way up if you want to get any significant voice out of the pedal with your bass. If the tone is turned down, it works well with the high strings, but you can't hear it on the lower toned strings. Turned all the way up, I can even get great wah sound out of the B-string on my 5-string bass. This also works great with a regular guitar. Whether bass or 6-string, t's a great tool to have in your guitar bag and it's built like a tank.

Killer Bass Wah
Superb feel and sound!Tips for wah success:- rock pedal all of the way forward- match the volume knob to your Bass- crank the "Q"- love life!Seriously, the range this pedal hits when the "Q" is amazing. I love how expressive the tone is when you get it going! I think it retains the low end and adds a creamy wah in the highs and mids. Don't listen to nay-sayers that claim you lose lows!To put it bluntly, it's needed on your board!I've used it with delays, octave up/downs, and overdrives, and just the straight-up clean; never found a sound I didn't like or couldn't use!Buy it.

Super Fun
I bought this kind of on a whim, none of the songs my band plays really call for a bass wah. I'm really glad I did because I have been having a blast playing with it. You can get some really neat sounds out of this by experimenting a little.I brought it to rehearsal, used it on a couple songs and my bandmates loved it.I read some reviews online that complained the pedal colored their sound when not in use. I did some A-B tests with my rig and could not notice any of this, your mileage may vary.It does a really good job of making the effect without sucking the low end away. I am impressed. It seems to be built really well and it looks great too.

The best wah pedal you'll ever own
Bass or guitar, this is one of, if not the best wah pedal you can get. I've owned about a dozen different wah pedals and this one, mixed with my vox used strictly for tone, is the absolute best.

GREAT BASS WAH
I recently had to replace my much older Cry Baby Wah and I am very happy with this pedal. I like the new on/off by simply applying my foot to the gas! Some reviews did not like the fact that it went off when they removed their foot from the pedal, but I do not find this a problem as when I use my pedal, my foot is always on it and when I want it to switch off, I just gently bring the pedal back to home and it's off. I think the on/off is very smooth and actually like it better.

Handles the Fuzz and the Funk just fine
I started with the Morley Dual Bass Wah based on the reviews I read and having tried one out. A solid pedal, it was great for the more subtle, clean bits, but in a full volume, overdriven & fuzzed up scenario I couldn't get it to cut through. So I went on to the Ibanez Weeping Demon WD7. It cut through on the heavy bits all right, but with all its bells and whistles (I lost count of how many knobs and adjustments it had), I could never get it to sound subtle enough for the clean, chilled-out parts. It just sounded too artificial. Not to be negative, but you could say that's typical Ibanez. So I finally invested in a new Cry Baby. These use an old-school potentiometer in the rocker mechanism, and not fancy optical magic, and the pots can wear out after time, so I bought brand new for a change. (But don't let that put you off! The part is replaceable. Just keep it in mind if you're considering a very cheap used Cry Baby.) Sound-wise it had everything I wanted - nice and funky on the clean, subtle parts, and cuts through the heavy fuzz just fine. The Variable Q knob gives more than enough control over the depth of the wah, and I really like the spring-loaded pedal with the auto-off, as I'd gotten used to that with the first two wahs. The Cry Baby sounds (and looks) so classic, and that fits right in with the rest of my gear and the music we play.

It is definitely my thing
If you like cheese you will love these. I fell in love these pedals in about 1980 using them on electric guitars, mainly influenced by Hendrix. This could be used on bass or guitar but I use this one on an eight string bass and love it large. It floats my boat.
