Great sub, but beware of the low quality RCA cable that is included
I'm using these paired with Klipsch The Fives, and I'm really happy with the combo. The sound quality of the sub is punchy and responsive, but possibly a little lacking in the upper bass and definitely a little on the low end. I still think it sounds better than a ported subwoofer and really makes my Fives shine. One big problem is that the supplied RCA cable is awful and causes a constant hum. I had an old Monster RCA cable laying around which once I switched to that, it fixed the issue. I seriously can't believe that they ship with such a low-quality cable that causes an issue with the product.

Excellent performance
I mostly listen to smooth jazz and classical music. I not about house shaking bass or busting the neighbor's windows. I have this paired with the Kanto YU powered speakers and the setup is primo. Nice tight bass set so it doesn't overwhelm the warm mids and highs of the YUs. I find myself using these more than my klipsch fives and the 12" sub on my Denon setup. For a supposed "used" sub it came in pristine condition. If I didn't know better I'd swear it was brand new. I feel very fortunate to have found such an outstanding deal. Highly recommend if you're a music lover.

Great sounding and efficient compact design budget subwoofer
I bought the Kanto sub8 to replace my Kanto sub6, which I paired with two pair of Kanto Ben's - in my man cave of course. It looks, feels and most of all sounds like a durable quality sub. The sub6 is a nice little sub for music, but didn't provide low enough sub-bass for my movie enjoyment. For now I am running both the sub6 and sub8 together and the both seem to complement each other in this setup and make the Ben's sing. I was going to buy a center channel speaker next for my theater system. Since I added the sub8 for sub-bass and the sub6 for bass my Ben's Soundstage and imaging have greatly improved and I don't feel a center channel speaker is necessary.

Blends great with my Elac Connex
The Elac Connex have no built-in subwoofer controls, so I couldn't use my Yamaha sub effectively which also didn't have a built-in crossover. This sub fits the bill perfectly and with the sealed cabinet, I get nice tight bass under my desk. I dialed it in around 90hz crossover and leave it at about 35% volume and it blends perfectly. So happy I found this sub.

It works, but has horrible RCA cable
It does work to add more bass to music and movies and it has plenty of volume and crossover adjustment. It's not shattering, but it's there, like more force coming. You'll notice by switching the sub on and off and listening to the sound. Is it worth it? Time will tell but I do notice the difference. The sub itself is good quality. But it has an amazingly cheap RCA cable. Shockingly bad, you'll get it when you see it. I've never seen a cable this bad with any audio product at this price.I'm keeping the sub for now but I'm a bit pissed at having to buy a decent cable for 10-20 dollars more. It should be included.

Great little subwoofer!
Well I figured I'd leave one since there are no other review. I bought this sub originally to go with my Kanto Yumi speakers I have been using with my computer. Instead I hooked them up to my stereo receiver (a vintage Yamaha CR-2020) hooked up to a pair of Energy RC-10 speakers and connected to my turntable. This little sub really filled out my listening rig and sounds fantastic. I just spent several hours at two big name stores trying out small subs in the 8" - 10" range and being disappointed. This one has a tight and fast response and all the features needed to get started. I'm sure there are some other high dollar subs that can produce a slightly better sound, but bang for the buck this one really rocks. May have to get a second one to go with my computer setup.

Good sound. Great aesthetic.
In a medium sized room this sub is beautiful. Cant say the same for a full size living room. But it's a non ported 8inch sub. I can only expect so much. After doing the sub crawl and finding the sweet spot in my room, and after messing with the crossover a bit. I find this sub to have some nice deep and punchy bass. I use it mostly for music. But I game and watch movies sometimes too. No complaints for this sub in either of those aspects. It's funny to see that I use my 10 inch and my 12 inch home subs less now. Maybe I'm picking favorites because (let's be real) it's a BEAUTIFUL subwoofer, the most aesthetically pleasing sub I've seen. But the sound Is great too.

King Kong BASS
While watching “King Kong vs Godzilla” with the sound turned up on my ZVOX 770, I couldn’t help but wonder if those roars and crashes would benefit from a sub woofer!Seriously, I love the ZVOX, which I use in our small condo for music as well as TV. This Kanto sub8 realty does kick things up. It was very easy to install (did require a call to ZVOX to determine the low frequency cut off), and in about 10 minutes I’m really enjoying the tuba playing of Howard Johnson with his band Gravity!I can’t recommend the Kanto more highly. The reviews were right, a fine piece of equipment. Sure, I wish it cost less, but quality is expensive. Plus this is what saving those Amazon points is for!BTW, I had to turn the bass down, a little, fog Kong’s roar! :-)
