Surprisingly Nice Knife
I waited a few weeks before I wrote this review. Knife arrived in perfect condition. Blade edge was razor sharp and not rough like some reviews noted. The lock up is tight and firm, no blade play in any direction, either opened or closed. Handle was not rough and felt good in hand. Knife is heavy and well built. After carrying a few weeks, I find is sits in my front pocket well and the option to switch the pocket clip from right to left is nice. It is a bit awkward to open with the thumb stud because the knife is so large but it is doable. It opens and closes smoothly and the Triad Lock keeps it secure while open. It is pretty easy to unlock and close but keep your fingers out of the way while closing. Trust me on that one. It is razor sharp. I have mostly positive things to say about this Cold Steel Drop Point Voyager with a few minor 'cons'. The thumb stud is awkward and the pocket clip is way too tight. A 'wave' type flipper to open, such as on the Cold Steel Spartan would have been a nice touch as I like how that works. It would be a useful addition on this x-large Voyager. I used a small pry bar to bend the pocket clip open a bit so it is easier to withdraw from my pocket without tearing my jeans. Other than that it is a beast of a knife. Not as practical as some of my other smaller knives, but I like it, and it is a keeper.

Worth every penny...
Wasn't sure I'd like it, based on pics, but its far more comfortable than I thought. Has a great edge & holds it well, too. Much lighter than it looks & not too big to carry daily...for me anyway. Great knife & tough as nails. Love the spear point that call drop point & i changed my edge to a convex for chopping and have use it as a makeshift pocket machete a couple times. Can't go wrong with Cold Steel & the smaller voyager drop point is nxt on my list. I am more impressed each time I purchase a CS product. Go for it. And Amazon's pay plan makes it easier to obtain a great knife if you're like me & money is tight, lol. I have the air lite tanto otw, too. Big 👍

My favorite Voyager XL
This is my favorite Cold Steel Voyager XL so far. It's a bit longer than the Voyager XL Clip Point, which I also own. The edge came hair shaving sharp. The jumping on the spine is very nice. This knife can be used for both camping (if you forget a good fixed blade) and self defense. It's a decent knife to have in an emergency survival situation. It also doesn't look as menacing as the other Voyager XL designs. That could be important depending on what state you live in, or if you were forced to use it to defend yourself.

Yikes, that’s a knife
Beautiful sharp blade in a no-nonsense folding handle. Just what I wanted.

XL voyager drop point
Well I think it might be the newest blade design on the voyager line. Aus10 steel decent for its application. Nice high grind and very usable blade shape. Really nice stone wash and pretty decent jimping for traction. The best lock in the market, aluminum liners to strengthen the handle. The texture on the handle is pretty aggressive and that helps with grip. The pocket clip it works fine but it’s just little tight to deploy the knife. I just stuck a folded piece of paper under it for a day or two to bend the pocket clip just enough to have a better gap and it is easier to put in pocket and to take it out of your pocket. I got 6 other older voyagers on the aus8 steel, so I know these knives are good. This is a GSM model but it looks pretty solid and not too different from the older ones.

Drop-point at large
I've been contemplating buying a knife from the Voyager series for many years and decided on the drop-point blade version. It is an impressive blade and is incredibly slicey. Saber ground but acts like a full flat. The value is way above average. You could call it a novelty knife if it weren't for the utility that it clearly offers. Needless to say it won't become an EDC despite my love of large folders. I have 2XL hands and got tired of the proverbial "3 finger" knives and then started buying larger folders but as everybody knows these Cold Steel folders take it to a different level of large. To disengage it I would recommend pointing it at the floor and pressing the triad lock back and then rotating the entire knife upward ensuring your fingers are not in the rotation path.

this knife is big! Keeper.
this knife was bigger than I thought, in hand... I knew I was getting a bigger knife. I may use it for bush crafting...probably not the best for that use, b/c its not a full tang. however the knive blade is beefy and looks like it can take hits and still be good. NO lateral blade movement, nice and tight, with easy swing open and beefy lock. This blade looks like it will NOT accidently fold in on me. the "Count Dooku" from Star Wars curved knife handle style is why I got this knife really, b/c of how it performs in the hand vs straighter knife handles.... handle is long and will work very well with gloves and will help remain in the hand b/c of that tail curve. It has a smaller clip (compared to a smaller EDC knife I have)

Wer große Folder mag wird es lieben. Schön verarbeitet, sauber, scharf geschliffen, liegt sehr gut in der Hand.
