Face Reading in Chinese Medicine

Hands down THE best textbook out there!

What a great read !! Very interesting and informative. The author is a legand.

This book was worth every penny! The information is fascinating and has helped me see the correlations of specific features and markings on the face to certain traits in myself as well as other people.My favorite chapter is the chapter on health. Our face gives us clues to conditions before they really set into the body or show up on tests and keeping an eye out for these markings is a great way to catch conditions early. I became aware that dark circles under the eyes is related to the kidney and adrenal system. It is an early warning sign that these organs are stressed and more rest is needed. The book is filled with many things to look for on our face that show the beginning of imbalances such as blood pressure and blood sugar issues. There are even markings to show at what approximate age we will enter menopause.The book is organized well and easy to follow. There are many color photos to illustrate the markings/features described which makes it helpful to understand. Anyone who is interested in learning face reading, this book is a must and I would highly recommend it!

The idea sounded crazy, but a friend had early kidney disease diagnosed through Lillian's face reading, so I decided to buy the book. The cover and preview do not describe the book well. The book actually makes a lot of sense when you go through it. It would be interesting to make a diagnostic algorithm mapped to a range of variables setup by the author.

I bought this as a gift for my acupuncturist, who is somewhat knowledgeable about Chinese medicine. I thought it would be entertaining, like astrology. But before handing it over I had to take a peek and now I can hardly put it down. She makes a very strong case for face reading as a rational skill, rather than as I thought, a superstitious practice. Also, the photographs, detailed descriptions and explanations are so well done that you may find yourself immediately compelled to start looking more carefully at every face you see, and you will draw conclusions. From what I've found this far, the description of features and character seem to be perfectly valid for my own face and personality.

I am an acupuncturist by trade, and was first introduced to the concept of Chinese face reading by the author herself. Lillian Bridges came to my school and taught a continuing education class that I was able to attend just before I graduated. The information she provided was wonderful, fun, and surprisingly accurate.I've had a couple of chances to meet with Lillian Bridges since then, and have enjoyed each opportunity. Meeting her inspired me to buy the first edition of her book and read it. I was pleased to discover that the same material she taught in continuing education she expounded upon and went over in greater detail within the pages of her book.Now that I'm in practice, I often am called on to offer Traditional Chinese facial rejuvenation techniques. One of the things I like to do when I'm working on facial rejuvenation is to do a quick face reading. My patients love it.I highly recommend this book.

Chinese Face Reading is one of the vital tenants of Chinese Medicine and is a lost art. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Lillian Bridges, that lost art/science is being brought back -- not only to those of us who work in that field, but to the general public. It is amazing what the face tells us and Lillian is the best there is in seeing it and putting it into book form so that we can all benefit. The book is a must read for those of us in Oriental Medicine and will even help those who haven't studied it to see some of their own issues in their face. Enjoy and see for yourself what the "lines" in your face are telling you!

I have wanted to get the book, "Face Reading in Chinese Medicine," since seeing Dr. Lillian Bridges on the Dr. Oz Show. It is fascinating of how Chinese doctors could tell a lot about their patients by looking at their face. This face reading method was particularly used to avoid touching female patients, except for their extremities, as it was deemed inappropriate to do so. I am still reading the book and plan on re-reading it several times. I keep it on my coffee table because it is quite a conversation starter with guests.

The best book on Chinese face reading I have found so far, well done Lillian Bridges!!!.This is a very comprehensive book, detailed and well written. The author shares this fascinating ancient knowledge with incredible ease. She's methodical, generous, kind and almost poetic when describing and analyzing the face.This is a book that deserves a second (and perhaps third!) reading. Definitely a book to keep as a reference if you're willing to study the subject into more detail and practice, practice, practice!.After you read this book you'll look at people with different eyes, it will be impossible to have a chat with someone without noticing shapes, lines, skin tone etc... and its well worth it!.Don't waste your time and money with other books about face reading, this is the best one, trust me!.

Too general, I simply cannot read people's faces after reading this. Most pictures do not help much. There is no point dividing people into personality types, it makes things confusing and repetitive. I can find many free sources for face reading with much more detail in other languages (Vietnamese in my case).
