Fluval A402 Aquarium Air Pump 4.0W

This is easily the quietest aquarium air pump I’ve owned. It runs smoothly with very little noise, which was a pleasant surprise compared to others I’ve used in the past. It provides consistent airflow, was easy to set up, and has been running reliably without any issues. Build quality feels solid and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. If you’re looking for a quiet, dependable air pump, this one delivers.

This is the worse air pump I have ever purchased. The first one I purchased started making this loud noise and I had to return it. This second one I have just stopped working and no longer pumping air in my air stone. It only lasted for 30 days. I am glad I kept my Top Fin air pump because I reconnected it and started working right away. Stay far away from this Fluval A402. It is not worth a broken penny.

Fantastic pump! It’s quiet, and I like that you’re able to hang it onto the stand. I used 2 strips of wide 3M Velcro instead of screwing it into the stand, but the pump provides an easy way to mount it using a drill.

It works but the noise level is Not Quite at all!

Works fantastic. Moves tons of air. Had it for a year running non stop and never had a problem.

I typically am a fan of Fluval products. Nearly my entire 95 gal fresh water tanks gear is from Fluval. I bought this pump in early June and now in October, it started making screeching sounds loud enough to hear in through out the house. This may just be a fluke or below standard devise hard to say. I would love to exchange it but I’m outside the window for returns.

Powerful pump

It’s pumping air just like it should, but I don’t think that I should have to replace these pumps every few years. While Fluval makes a lot of aquarium components, their long term quality is questionable and quirky. I do keep going back to that brand, though, and they do have a loyal following. My trusted aquarium store only carries their products, so that says something as well.

Fluval one of the best in the aquarium world, I always buy this companies products for the quality /price /and range of products. Pump ideal for my large tank set up, low noise hardly here it running. Would recommend this product for its reliability going off previous air pumps I have owned.

Great little airpump, but wish the seller or Amazon would highlight its not 220v so transform is required

From these reviews I imagine most people would be put off from getting this air pump, I know I almost cancelled my order after I went back and read more reviews, but that seemed to be more scare tactics than anything, possibly because someone is trying to keep the price down while they stock their fish room with this awesome air pump. Previously, I had two generic air pumps running an air stone and a couple sponge filters. Now I have 11 sponge filters and an air stone running on the new pump, and this unit is quieter than those other pumps even with the added bubbles. You simply plug this pump in and it works, my only complaint is that when you turn one of the dials all the way down it doesn't shut off, the pump enters a low-output mode, so both outlets end up running continuously which isn't a problem if you tee both ports together. I have two Fluval Aquasky 3.0 lights as well, and I have to say I'm not disappointed with the quality of Fluval's products like I have been with other brands. Fluval remains a solid choice for any hobbyist and, frankly most of these negative reviews are Amazon's fault for not checking returned merchandise before shipping products to customers, when you get a new product it performs like you have come to expect from Fluval. A little while back I received a Fluval 50 watt heater from Amazon, that had been clearly returned, you could even see the salt buildup on the top of the unit, instead of whining about it I ended up keeping it as it performed like new. So the moral of the story is don't blame Fluval for receiving a faulty product that's been returned, blame Amazon's returns department for their poor quality assurance policies.

How did barely 2 weeks and we had a power outage and a power surge blew it so I don’t really know long it works for worked great for the two weeks that it ran not overly loud either
