Bottom Line: Its okay, and don't expect to be wow'd.
For the price, it's not terrible. I found that the colors are a little washed out, and the close-distance focus was terrible. The audio was fairly good, but I wish that the camera would tell you if the external microphone is on, since some people who used the camera ended up making a few silent films. The ergonomics of the camera are pretty lousy, and the hand strap is terribly designed. I had about 4 hours of video mysteriously disappear throughout one day. After powering the camera off and changing the battery, the videos were lost from the SD card. There is also NO internal memory, which means that if you don't have an SD card inserted, you can't capture anything. The rubber flap that covers up the HDMI, USB, and microphone ports would be a lot better if it was attached on the bottom. Because this product comes with an external microphone, the flap is always tangled up in the microphone's cord, and gets in the way of the zoom and record buttons, as well as occasionally preventing the screen from closing.Software: It's pretty terrible. No doubt about that. When you connect the camera to the TV via the HDMI port, you can either use the remote control (which is terrible), or you can use the touchscreen on the camera. The only catch is that the camera's screen is turned off and you have to guess where you're pressing. The camera's setup menu is not impressive. Setting the date and time was probably the most time consuming step in setting up the camera.

Next time, buy a smart phone!
There is one HUGE problem I have with this camera...you MUST have an external memory card to use it! Otherwise it performs just fine. Sheesh.Seriously. No sooner do I activate this camera, right out of the box, brand spanking new, it informs me that its memory is FULL and that I need to insert a memory card to continue using it! So I can't record a thing until I BUY a memory card. Or failing that remove my memory card from my cell phone and use that. But of course I'd first have to DELETE all the info from that or else this video camera will tell me that I have no room on THAT card!Which is precisely what it told me.Seriously. This is beyond stupid. I checked the available memory on this camera and it says I have like 8KB free space remaining. And yet it also says there is NOTHING ON THE CAMERA. So I'm presuming that ALL my space has been filled with product bloatware?Gee, thanks a lot.So, the moral of the story, kiddies, is DON'T buy this camera unless you have a blank memory card to go with it.Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go buy ANOTHER memory card so that I can use this annoying toy. Frankly, I'd have been better off upgrading my 6-yr old cell phone to a new Samsung. Ah well. Lessons learned.

great camera with external mic
great camera with external mic. i bought in hopes of recording video with external audio from a mixer. it could not handle the external audio. did a test with the mic that came with it and it was of good quality. the camera was a great little camera for the money. easy to set up and use. i just wanted to be able to to record audio from a different source. i could not pad the audio enough to have a good sound without some distortion. for regular setting this is the camera you want for the price.

Doesn't charge after a month!
Camera is good and works fine but the battery doesn't want to charge. It says full battery and then after recording for 5 minutes, battery gets drained and dies. At first it recorded fine and charged fine. After about a month it stopped charging. Now I have to spend money on getting extra batteries. Bought this to record a play and of course on the day of production I charged it all day before and when we were about to record, it recorded 5 minutes and battery died. The day of the play was a month after I was allowed to return so now I'm stuck with it. Kind of annoyed...

Having trouble
IF YOU'RE GOING TO BUY A VIDEO CAMERA, BUY AMERICANI'm updating my review of the Boblov Ordro HDV-Z20 Full HD blah blah blah video camera that I purchased back in February 2017 (I think that's when I purchased it). This video camera is by far the worst video camera I have ever had to handle, and I've handled quite a few in my life.1. Most of the instructions are in Mandarin (the camera is imported from China). The settings on the camera are all in Mandarin as well. I had to jump through hoops to get those translated into English. The English in the actual manual is somewhat broken so it's hard to understand and very confusing.2. The battery life on this camera is terrible. After just five minutes, your fully charged battery will start to rapidly lose battery until you have to recharge it again.3. There aren't a lot of options in terms of different effects you can use with this camera. The options are very limited. Unlike JVC for instance.4. When I plug the memory card into the memory card reader and then connect it to my computer (You have to buy your own memory card reader), then click on the HDV icon and watch the videos I've just shot, my computer will go haywire and I get a message on my screen saying that my PC has been corrupted. I then have to shut down and restart the computer. So basically, if you want to watch everything you've just filmed, you either have to watch it on your video camera (but the sound quality on the camera playback is piss poor), or you have to plug the memory card into the memory card read, connect it to your computer, then copy/paste the recordings onto your computer and watch them that way instead of through the memory card files itself. Not sure if doing otherwise will have the same effect on your computer as it did mine, but this has been a real issue.5. Unlike other video cameras, when you press "Pause" on your video camera, it literally stops it. In other words, with other video cameras, when I've pressed pause and then resume recording and then press "stop" and then go to playback, I can see the entire recording with the pause, but it just goes straight through. But with this camera, when you press pause, it takes what you've just recorded and makes it its own segment as if you had pressed "stop". So now you have individual files instead of just one file. It's so confusing and irritating when you have to upload it all onto your computer in order to edit it so it comes together.6. Some of the files (pictures and videos) will automatically delete themselves if you have too many of them on your camera. Because of the inability to effectively pause your work, each time you stop recording, you have an extra file on your camera. If you continue to record and then stop recording, you'll look in playback and see that you're missing your older files. So you've basically just lost everything. How infuriating!!!!7. The picture quality is not that great. Not to say the quality is any better or worse than any JVC or Canon camera I've used, but it's not professional. In fact, the picture quality is probably more akin to the picture quality from a Canon camera. It's just not that great. The only good thing I can say is that the guy who sold me this (and part of me highly suspects that this video camera is coming from one individual and not some company) was more than helpful and always responded to my questions. He did not leave me in the dark. But his camera does suck. I paid about $200 or so for this and believe me it's not worth the money. If you're trying to film professional movies, this is not the camera for you. Unfortunately (from what I've seen) you're gonna need to shell out a grand or in some cases a couple grand if you want a really good camera. The JVC camera I used to have was very good, but I couldn't find them. But in many ways it was far superior to this piece of crap Boblov. The name by the way sounds Russian or eastern European and yet I'm almost certain it's some Chinese guy in his home making these crappy cameras. Just do yourself a favor and buy American. Always read the reviews first.
