Fantastic book. I buy these for all of my children in both elementary and middle school. These books have a very good number of problems and they follow topic curriculum at school. Wish they had a spectrum books for high school.

This book is very good for helping my daughter with her Math. She was starting to fall behind in school and we wanted to be able to help her, but we haven't had to do 5th grade math for a very long time. The answers are in the back so you can have them do some practice and then review the answers with them.

The media could not be loaded. I loved this book and how straight forward it is. It makes it simple and easy as a parent to teach my kids. My son enjoys the coloring and how he gets to cut out and glue counters in the book! Unfortunately, I have come across a misprint where 21 and 22 are completely skipped in the Leason 1 section. I ended up making my own little page to ensure my kids don't skip these numbers. Other than that I haven't found any other problems and am looking forward to continuing their education with the Spectrum.

Nice 5th grade math book as aid to school work my daughter uses for my 11 year old grandson!

I am using this book for both my rising 7th (struggles in math) and my 4th grader (advanced learner) and I can not say enough good things about the Spectrum Math series. Information is scaffolded well, laid out clearly and concisely. Material is not dumbed down. Lesson are SO important for 6th/7th grade and the way they explain exponents and powers of 10 and percents are critical in mastering material needed in later grades. It isn't straight drilling, but offers lots of review. This book actually teaches your child how to do the problems, but you have to teach the WHY. The materials is right in line with a 5th grade curriculum. My 4th grader is advanced learner with exposure to fractions, multi-step multiplication, area models, metrics and division. This is a solid book for her to advance to the 6th grade curriculum this year and I don't feel like anything is getting missed. My 7th grader has gaps of knowledge ALL OVER THE PLACE and struggles with Math. I am taking her back to build her up. She has more exposure to upper level content, but never learned WHY she was doing things and manipulating problems a certain way. This is just what she needs to get caught back up. The schools say they remediate your kids (they don't - they just teach them how to pass the EOG test), but this book actually does teach your child (you need to help of course). If you have your child work through it consistently and with fidelity, they will either advance their knowledge one level or bridge gaps they may have missed at this level. I feel relieved to have found this series for both my girls and am excited to start the 6th grade workbook which is also high rated in my opinion.

Great extra practice for my child who struggles in Math. Also, helps explain the answers in the answers key since it’s been while since I did 5th grade math!

My son is great at math but 5th grade has be tough on him. He’s teacher suggested practicing at home using a 5th grade level math workbook. Since this would be supplemental and likely not be completed in its entirety, I wanted something small and inexpensive. This was perfect and helps me confirm he’s doing it right by providing the answers ( I am not so great at math lol)
