Bon-Aire UFHN1 PowerNozzle Hose Nozzle

As a trained fire fighter I bought this nozzle because it looked like a scaled down version of ones used on the job. I was not disappointed, it seems well made and works like it's big brothers. I have used it a lot with no problems and no water leaking down my arm like many others I have used. I don't rate most of the items I purchase from Amazon and I give 5 stars even less but this is a great product for the price and I liked it so much I plan to get a 2nd.

Great nozzle but leaked right away from the on off handle.

I like the direct flow from the garden hose straight through the nozzle instead of a 90-degree turn. That increases the pressure for long lengths. I had a problem with a steady drizzle after a month's use when I turned the handle to the off position. I have since discovered that you need to slowly adjust the position of the handle to reach a sweet spot that completely turns the nozzle off and stops the drip.

I've had the original Bon-Aire nozzle for some time now and have like it a lot. I use it to wash my car and clean my A/C coils. Very durable. I bought the Bon-Aire UFHN1 PowerNozzle Hose Nozzle to replace a pistol grip type nozzle I bought about a year ago and which had become so worn that it leaked. I certainly made the right choice this time. I agree that it's more awkward to use with the hose connection at the top but that's why it provides such a great volume of water. It's a straight through water path instead of the 90 degree turn that most garden nozzles of this type use. The shut off lever is really a great convenience and saves me a lot of time and effort. I've only had this less than a month but I see no reason it won't last like the other Bon-Aire I have.

So far I like it. It works well. I prefer the hose attaching to the bottom of the handle rather than the top. Other than that it's light, lighter than others that I have used in the past and that's a plus for my wife. A simpler design helps to keep the weight down. The next test is we will see how long it lasts, I will let you know. It seems efficient unlike other similar nozzles that people complain about low volume spray. Those nozzles require a lot of water pressure to work well. This one seems to work just fine with normal house pressure. 20-25 feet of useable stream, I can reach the entire lawn standing in one central spot. 4 stars due to the hose attaching point.Update: I had to lower this to 2-3 stars because it started to leak after little use. I still stand behind my review it does all that i said it does but clearly its not a quality product and needs to be replaced. I can no longer recommend this product to buy.Update: Now it leaks worse and it wont turn off fully. Junk do not buy. Try the outbacktuff (yes all one word) Cannon spray nozzle available on Amazon!

Shut off handle leaked after a day. While I have used Bon-Aire nozzles in the past and this one looks well made, there is obviously a flaw in the design. I will exchange it for another one. If that one leaks as well, it is going back for a refund. I will stick to the ones without the shutoff handle. For the price I expected better.UPDATE: The replacement started leaking at the handle within a month. I guess I will live with it but sure expected better. Not recommended if you won't put up with the drips from the handle shaft.

I can see why this nozzle got mixed reviews. It has a much higher flow rate than the average garden hose provides. I have a 50' red 1" line for fire protection out by our camper, fed by a 1" pipe directly from our well holding tank. This nozzle looks and functions like the ones we use at the firehouse. I love it mostly because it looks and works like the real deal, and it's made very well. You can get a cheap nozzle that will give you a stronger straight stream, but you won't be the back yard king without it. Different nozzles do different things - this one looks the best doing it! This nozzle is very easy to use and it replaced an identical one after many, many years of use when it finally broke down.On the expensive side.Gave it an average durability rating because we just got it and can't yet tell how it will last. Expect a long life just like the one it replaced.
