The universal grease filter is a sheet of fabric intended to install directly behind the metal filter you have above your hob. The idea being to trap airborne grease and stop it from clogging the internals of your extractor hood. To anyone who has had the supreme displeasure of cleaning the accumulated grime within a cooker hood, will instantly appreciate that having something trap even 50% is a big win.In terms of porosity, to allow the extractor to effectively draw air through it, the grease filter fabric is fine and I noticed no discernable drop in suction in daily use.The carbon filter is a little more questionable and looks to be a very porous foam with a carbon coating. While it has the advantage of being able to be cut to size, this is probably it's only advantage over the densely packed filter cassettes in terms of trapping smells, etc.

Great value for money, fits perfectly as you can cut them up to your precise cooker hood filter size, easy to install and definitely good quality for the money.

Only 1 in my pack. Not a big issue at the price paid.Seems to be working quite well.If you need a universal filter of this type i would say buy this as it is a fair price. If you are lucky and get the 2 then it is a real bargain.
