True, these are refurbs and true, they don't come with a required power adapter you'll have to buy separately. But for the price, they can't be beat and perform beautifully!We bought four for our newly constructed home. Not knowing exactly what we'd install during the building process, we pre-wired 16AWG power cable to low-voltage boxes in each room we wanted sound, running the cables in a home-run configuration to the data cabinet in the basement. Then, we pre-wired speaker cable from the ceilings to the same low voltage power boxes in each room. Once we'd found these controllers, we decided to power all four units using a single power supply and inquired of Pyle support for ideal specs. They answered our request in a few days indicating we'd need only one 12v 10A power brick with a separate 5525 12v 4-way splitter. We then installed speakers in the ceilings (where we'd previously coiled excess speaker wire) and these controllers inside the low voltage power boxes. From an esthetics point of view, all you see are the speakers in the ceilings and a blank outlet cover over the low voltage box next to the light switch in each room. Now the 10A power brick keeps them running 24/7 so that whenever we walk into a room, our phones immediately connect to these via Bluetooth! Volume and music sources are all controlled by your phone. They also come with a 3.mm stereo speaker input so you could conceivably put a 3.5mm jack in the cover plate (keystone would be a slick possibility for this) and plug in another audio source, but we didn't do that. Very cool and very happy with them. I just need three more if ever they're available again (hint, hint, Pyle).

The writing on the controller and the picture here indicates and shows this ships with a 12v power supply, which it does not. Now I gotta locate or buy one. They should EXPLICITELY state no power supply is included. I wouldn't have bought it.

I purchased this to make my old outdoor speakers bluetooth controlled. They are not PYLE speakers. It's easy enought to set up and it works fine. The distance from it to my phone for bluetooth is way less than 30ft. I knew it didn't come with a 12v power supply by reading reviews but the item says right on it that it does. The seller should at least recommend a power supply to use but they don't. I purchased a 12v power supply with multiple sized jacks. This unit uses a 5.5x2.5mm jack. It shipped with DHL and did not require a signature.
