Good colors for my kitchen. These have a texture to the cutting board side that I've not had in other cutting mats, which I got used to.

Works nice for light cutting or mixing, not recommended for heavier cutting such as potatoes, chicken etc made deep cut marks all over the mat.

The "book" says use red for meats, green for veggies, etc. but I say choose colors that contrast the foods. Hell, you're gonna wash it after anyways lol. I chose the grey chopping mats and boy am I happy. I was tired of chopping onions on a white board, now I use a dark one and can see what I am doing. Long ago I also bought other colors and always use one that contrasts the color of the food being prepped.I saw some 1 star reviews saying they slide around; not true. I say one saying the rubber backing was missing; the back is textured, not rubber. I saw another saying these chopping mats are poisonous; rediculous. They will wear out as any mat will but I have been using them for years and find them superior.In my kitchen I keep a dozen, or so, of different colors to see my work better and these grey ones really completed my rainbow collection of flexible cutting mats. I bought the purple ones because I was tired of tomatoes, berries, and other red foods staining my old cutting boards. These are good quality. Good size for all my needs. Thickness is just right. Has grippy silicone underside to avoid sliding around.
