Good quality dimmer for aquarium
I bought this dimmer to control the intensity on my aquarium light, which was way too bright. It was easy to install in line between the AC/DC adapter and light and it works great, allowing for gradual brightness adjustment after the initial minimum setting for the light. The dial is smooth and also an on/off switch, which is convenient. The switch stays cool. Initial impression was great. Quality is very good but long term reliability is still TBD. Arrived well packaged in anti-static bag but no documentation. I expected an electrical spec at the very minimum since installation is obvious. CE cert only.

Works like it should
I bought this to dim the LED lights on my fireplace mantel. I have had it for almost three years and have never had any problems. I love it so much, I ordered another one this week.

Dial moves very easily
It works but the dial is so easy to move a simple bump or you just moving the unit adjusts the brightness, I needed to tape the dial down so it wouldn't move.

Great switch, but rather big.
Bigger than I expected. Could have done with a lot smaller, but great switch.

Enclosure is thin, brittle, cheap
This thing seems cheaply made, and not durable at all. In fact, the first one I received was broken. It worked, but the shell was broken and not secure. Amazon sent a new one that arrived intact. It works great though, dims easily, clicks with on/off. Once secured to something solid I'm thinking it'll last a long time. Just wish the enclosure was more durable

LED panel dimming for FLATS
My large LED light tracing panel was too bright for taking FLATS for astrophotography even at its lowest setting. I put this in line and was able to dim it more for good flat exposures.

It does the job. What more do you need?
I got this to vary the fan speed on my big telescope's 12V cooling fan. It does exactly what it's supposed to. Yes, as some reviews have indicated, you need to ramp it up to a certain spot to get the fan moving, but then it's responsive to the whole range of speed. Please note that if you're using this to run a DC motor and not as an LED dimmer, you may hear a high-pitched whine at low speeds. This is just something that PWM does to DC motors, from what I've been able to find. I think the whine becomes unnoticeable at around 2/3 of the way up to max, but I had good hearing the last time it was examined. When the whining is louder, it was only enough to bother me when the open end of my telescope was facing me. There was no one else observing that night, so I don't know if it would bother my fellow amateur astronomers.
