Staedtler Fibre Tip Marker Permanent Superfine Thickness - Box Of 10, Black

They aren’t what they used to be. I’ve used STAEDTLER Lumocolor Pens for years and these pens are NOT as they were.Just bought a new 10 box of these Fine pens which I normally use to do line drawings and outline paintings and I am so disappointed in them. The tips are far too soft, making the ink lines spread. Also the ink now seems to soak into the paper far too much. So ........I sent for a 10 box of Superfine too just to test the difference - there is none ! The Superfine are just as bad. I have added a photo to show both the Fine And Superfine lines on heavyweight watercolour paper (it is even worse on 500g card). You can see how it has soaked in at the top of the lines.I will have to use them for something other than fine lines, I guess. Seems a bit daft though considering that’s what they are supposed to be for.NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL.

Staedtler just make the best pens. When I was flying, if a box of black fine pens turned up in the navigation room, they'd disappear in minutes. I bought these for marking my daughter's clothes and toys for nursery; my wife bought some different pens at the same time. We use these - there's no comparison.
