Jolly Songs: Book & CD in Print Letters (American English Edition) (Jolly Phonics) Paperback – January 1, 2005

Although I'm not impressed with the illustrations, the children do like them. The short songs about phonics set to classic children's melodies ("Skip to My Lou", "Farmer in the Dell", etc.) help both younger children learning to read and older ones who have struggled to remember basic phonics. The only negative side effect is that adults will also end up with the songs on a repeating loop in their brain. "Ants, ants, ants on my arm..." :)Jolly Phonics works better than other systems I've tried. It is worth the cost. What more needs to be said?There is both a British and American version of the songs, so be sure to get the one you need.

My sons teacher requested we buy this for the kids to start learning the sounds. As soon as I started it, my son was interested in it and he requests it in the car all the time! However for parents, expect to have these songs pop in your head randomly with no way of getting them out!

The cd had nothing on it. It was a blank. We tried it on multiple playing devices and all read "Error."Taking a look at the cd, I could see there there is no recording on it.

Great book and cd. Exactly what I wanted. The music along with the words to the song make it easier to help teach the kids they’re sounds.

This book only provides the lyrics to the songs. I was disappointed that the product photo shows a CD yet there’s no CD on arrival. As an educator that forced me to search out the music elsewhere. I finally found the music on YouTube under the titles Jolly Songs 1 and Jolly Songs 2. I gave the product three stars for the false advertising. Great phonics songs that help with sound recognition and retention.

Perfect fit

These songs are easy to learn and remember. My 2 year old loves listening to the CD. Great in my preschool class (kids age 3 and 4) as well. Highly recommend.

I purchased this book and CD at the end of the school year. It was stored safely in a box over the summer. I just took the CD out of the book to play it in my CD player and it won’t read the CD at all. I tried a different CD and it worked. Something is wrong with the CD that it won’t even read. So if you purchase this item make sure it works right away before the return window is gone. It’s brand new never used and it never worked.
