Fantastic
Amazing boots. Love this brand. Top of feet were tight at first but they expanded as i kept wearing them. Plantar fasciitis soles fit very well in them. I love that these boots aren't glossy. They go well with everything. Comfortable. Easy to put on if you don't mind lacing up, which is love lacing up. Not a zipper fan. Decent slip resistance. I can work, walk and go out in these.

Still look close to new after a year of heavy use.
Almost gave four stars instead of five because in less than a year, the sole is separating on one of them. It can easily be glued back together so not a real problem. Otherwise I love them. I can put them on in the morning and not take them off till bedtime. It takes 3 min to lace them up, and almost 2 min to get them off, but that's 5 min a day well spent. I don't ever use shoes, I always wear boots. I had wanted a tall boot that would look good when wearing shorts without having any socks showing above the boots. Had tried some that were about 8 to 10 inches tall, but they looked kind of "dinky" on my tall frame with long legs, and, therefore, didn't really create a masculine look. Tried some super tall "lineman's boots, but they were way too tall (almost to knees) and looked rather odd if worn with a short pant, so they were only used with long pants. I saw these 14 eye extra tall Dr. Martins and correctly thought they would be the perfect look that I wanted and they were. They had the side benefit of being very comfortable, and beyond that feeling very good, like you really don't even want to take them off. As for size, depending on the brand, I use either 11 or 12 (USA sizing), and initially ordered 11. it fit and felt ok at first but started hurting the toes after a couple hours. I gave them to my son and ordered a size 12. It fit perfectly. Mine are the "made in China" version, can't even find this style in a UK made, but the quality is very good and after a year of wear, they still look close to new, the soles are barely worn and the leather isn't scuffed up in spite of working on my car in them, crawling around inside aircraft at work, doing yard work with them, and generally giving them a workout through my normal activities.

So their not Made in england dosen't seem that bad
Well i JUst got my Docs today and i feel that the Forigen made Docs get a bum rap. First off I'm surprised how light they are in comparison to other shoes i have worn for some time. The Sole seems to have a pretty good amount of give to it and aborbs shock well. The leather is still realitively thick, I just have mine broken in it just took a night at work to do it. Now there are some key things to remember with any shoe. Just like tires the softer the tread the quicker its going to wear but its going to stick like glue, Taking care of a pair of shoes is also important, Regular polishings with a good polish will give water resistance and keep them looking good. Letting them dry after they get soaked will help too. I plan to give more information. I got these boots for 5 bucks cheaper here then on the Doc Martins website. Now if you have no problem dropping 220 for made in england thats on you but i know myself personally that i didn't. I feel these are just as good its just Doc Martins customers are a picky lot and want it their way. When i have the extra cash i will try the Solovairs and will report my observations. I will say this people owe it to themselves to give products an honest try before they speak. Just give things a chance before you complainWell I found out how they make a smooth leather. I had a bubble form in my break in line the other day like when you get a paint bubble on a car paint job. After rubbing it for a couple of minutes i found that something flaked off. Turns out they are made of real leather they have some kind of coating on them for appearence. I had to pull as much away as i could and fill the blemish in with shoe polish. nobody is really going to notice it unless they look right at it but still seems kind of strange to me. to add the cloth lining on the inside is starting to peel away from the heel counter as well. A few minor fixes but it shouldnt happen. I can't say enough about the sole though it is really soft and cushiony. I like it so much i might buy a pair of DMs industrial for work cause i need a met guard at work. Turns out Doc Martens had the ironbridge a boot made for exactly the type of job i do. Good boot just with the smooth wasan't a coating but a real black dye.

Perfect!! So soft!
This is my 6th pair of Doc's and 3rd pair of 1460's. I usually order the kid's sizes because they are cheaper. I sized up to a 4 instead of a 3 and I'm glad I did! They are roomy and soft! No stiffness and no harsh breaking in because we all know Docs can be tough to break in. I snagged these for an amazing deal on here and am hoping to get a new black pair soon. These boots are made tough and will last for years and even when you beat them into the ground...they still go and look amazing. 10/10 highly recommend!
