Q: Do i suppose to disconnect the battery before installing the start-x?

It is always advised to disconnect the battery before performing any electrical work. That being said, I installed mine in the driveway, at night, without disconnecting battery

Q: Will the truck remain on if you unlock the vehicle and open the door? i'm assuming it does with the non push button start rav4s.

They truck will stay on about 10 to 15 mins even if u unlock the door not need to press on the brakes stop it all u need to do I push thr keys jsut like how u would start it.

Q: Does this start the engine or just power the vehicle from the battery?

This will start your engine by pressing the lock button on your key 3 times. Once you have installed it.
