Q: If I get this item Do I need fp3?

If you have a good free flow exhaust and this k&n setup I recommend having one so you don't risk leaning out your bike. Otherwise if all you do is change the filter and housing then, no.

Q: Does this affect riding leg position?

Yes and no. My leg rests up against it while I ride vs the stock one. But you don’t even notice it. That’s on a 05 Electra glide.

Q: Is there a rain sock for it?

No K&N does not make a rain sock for this intake.
