UPDATE: In March 2024, after using this Eufy E40 Solo camera continuously since purchase (as below), the camera lens developed a fault in that it was misting up and therefore any image was blurred. I contacted Anker (the suppliers of this camera) and after providing proof of purchase thru Amazon, and giving the serial number, I was provided with a replacement camera within five days from my initial contact. No questions, No quibbling. What an amazing service. Thank you Anker. I am pleased that I gave you a five star rating in my first review. Original Review below:-Already using the Eufy doorbell camera and a battery operated Eufy E40 Solo camera covering an outside area of my house. Having found them easy to set up and having great pictures from both, decided to get a second Eufy E40 Solo camera to extend coverage of the rest of my garden. All cameras pick up my wifi signal (from a domestic BT router) at a distance of some 35 metres. Great cameras and with no on-going costs. All work to both my iPad and iPhone so I can see what’s going on from anywhere I travel to. Battery life is about 2 to 3 months and easy to recharge. All in all, the three cameras add additional security to my property and gives me peace of mind while I am away.

We've bought 3 of these now and I have to say they are excellent at the price point, no wires, no subscriptions and onboard memory. My only criticism is the set-up instructions, or lack of, they simply say refer to the app. The app is great, but what it fails to mention is that because this connects via 2.4 GHz wi-fi, if you have a dual band broadband router (which many will have) you will need to disable 5 GHz during the set-up, which is an unnecessary faff; if you don't disable the 5 GHz it will not connect to the 2.4 GHz. Good detection relies upon the installation position i.e. avoid 'straight on', it needs to be at an angle for best detection. Battery life is reasonable, but not brilliant. UPDATE JANUARY 2024: Both cameras failed during recent cold snap (temperatures down to -7 degrees Celsius at night, although Eufy claim they are good down to -20 degrees Celsius), currently speaking with Eufy about replacements, will report back.....FURTHER UPDATE: Eufy provided replacements for both cameras under the warranty, hopefully these will survive a British winter. FURTHER UPDATE FEBRUARY 2024: Replacement camera worked for only 48 hours before failing as others have done, temperature at night 2 degrees Celcius which is sufficient to kill the battery, hence whilst these cameras are great whilst they work, I've had 3 fail in this way, all within 12 months and all during cold winter nights in the UK. Not fit for purpose. FURTHER UPDATE MARCH 2024: Spoke with Eufy Customer Support, they became very unhelpful when I requested a refund, I spoke with Amazon and thankfully they gave me a refund straight away. Buyer beware! FINAL UPDATE MARCH 2024: EUFY provided replacement camera, pushed latest beta firmware to it, battery charged to 100%, it lasted 3 days before failing and going off-line as per all other cameras. These cameras are not fit for purpose, in essence they are very, very expensive dummy cameras. I'm done with Eufy.
