TMP 2.0 IS A SECURITY MUST HAVE. PROTECT YOURSELF WITH ENTERPRISE GRADE HARDWARE BASED ATTESTATIONS
This ASUS TPM, Trusted Platform Module, version 2.0, latest version, provides data center server grade hardware attestation functionality. Here are a few suggestions for you to consider. • Make certain that the FEMALE mechanical pin socket is a available on your motherboard. If you do NOT have the 14-pin female connector, usually near your CPU, you can not use this 14-pin male ASUS TMP 2.0 board. • Gently insert this ASUS TPM security module so that this small board with ALL of the TPM’s 14 MALE PINS insert correctly into ALL the 14 FEMALE holes on the motherboard connector. Verify this visually because it’s easy to ONLY insert one row of 7 MALE pins and the TPM will look and feel as if this device is properly seated when in fact you have missed properly inserting all the 14 MALE pins and/or possibly in reversed connection order that may result in irreparable electronic damage to the TPM and your MOBO hardware. • DO NOT POWER UP WITHOUT visually verifying that all 14 MALE PINS are properly seated including the absent KEY PIN that provides for ONE PROPER ORIENTATION of this device to plug in. • DO NOT SETTLE for version 1.4 of the TPM. You must have version 2.0. A TPM module that is version 1.4 or less is based upon HARDWARE SECURITY STANDARDS that are several years old and obsolete. • To have this TPM module work properly you will need to select the correct settings in the ADVANCED menus of your BIOS setup. • Additionally, depending upon Operating Systems and Application Level Software. You may need to manually configure your OS and Application configurations to be aware that the TPM is installed on your mobo. • SET ASIDE any of the negative comments about the efficacy of the TPM hardware attestation ability because once properly installed, proper BIOS setting have been selected and your Application(s) are configured to recognize this TMP 2.0 chip. Having this additional layer of hardware-based security has ADVANTAGES that FAR EXCEED any DISADVANTAGES. Some security is better than NO security. • An EXAMPLE of what adding a TPM will provide is giving you the option to activate CRYPTO hardware, like Bit Locker or Secure BOOT processes using AES-256 or AES-512 on-the-fly CIPHER based ENCRYPTION hardware to work and communicate with your CPU, NVMe storage and Network Interface Card (NIC). where your data in motion can be fully hardware ENCRYPTED. • The TPM is a tremendously positive value-added COMPUTER SECURITY product providing capabilities that can not occur without the TPM hardware being available. • ENJOY. Works on Z170-A Board
Couldn’t find anything that specifically said this worked for them, but in case anyone else is wondering. I have an Asus Z170-A board that I have no reason to upgrade and wanted Windows 11 as I use it at work and wanted to at home as well. I popped this in my board, BIOS immediately recognized and enabled TPM. Installed Windows 11 from installation media. Also my CPU is an i7-6700K that I also have no reason to upgrade as all games run fine with that and my 1070 GPU. You can’t upgrade from Windows 10 to 11, but you can do a clean install on your system drive and keep your games, etc. on your other drives just fine if you use something like Steam like I do. Worked very easily for the cost of you just want to be able to get Windows 11 with a Z170-A board.

Added the TPM 2.0 that we needed for the motherboard
I built a pc for my nephew but the motherboard didn't have a TPM chip (it had a port where you plug one in). This one worked for the motherboard I used for the pc, and having a TPM 2.0 allowed us to use Windows 11.

Works correctly with ASUS C422 SAGE-10G & ASUS C621 SAGE motherboards running with Windows 10/11 Pro
Easy to install. Works as soon as PC is restarted. But difficult to find, now that Microsoft requires a TPM for Windows 11, & also very pricy (5x MSPR). Not 100% certain if I will BitLocker encrypt all my internal ASUS desktop PC NVMe disks. Theft of a such 50-lb desktop is awkward/difficult, unlike a portable PC tablet or laptop.

Works on Asus X99-A II Motherboard
Detected as RPM 2.0 and works fine on Asus X99-A II Motherboard, but will not load OS properly until "Clear RPM" option is set in the motherboard BIOS first. Otherwise, will just have spinning dots on the boot screen.

Allows easy encryption using bitlocker in Windows 10, but doesn't fix Window 11 incompatibility.
I bought this to allow easier encryption of my drives with bitlocker and with limited hope that it would help make my old machine Windows 11 compatible without having to hack the Windows 11 install. The bitlocker support was great. All drives are encrypted now and I don't have to type a password to unlock my drives every time I reboot. No joy as far as gaining Windows 11 compatibility though. I didn't really expect it since my processor is listed specifically as not support, so no big surprise there. Works fine on my Asus machine for encryption though.
