Powerful and compact
Bought this access point to begin slowly replacing an existing Netgear Orbi system, house is a small bungalow which is narrow but sets back very far from the front of the house. We have Ring devices at the front and rear and with the Netgear Orbi mesh system placement unfortunately one of the cameras keeps disconnecting as one of the satellites in the mesh system loses connection continually. This is the first unit bought to slowly replace it, with a UniFi system which is designed and used by a lot of corporate networks. This is the U6-LR (WiFi 6) unit, despite some of the reviews stating it's a "large" unit and it looking large in photos, it's smaller than I expected it to be, approximately 22cm across and about 4.8cm in depth (front to back). Having tested this on a Virgin Media 350Mbps connection it is impressive. I have it mounted high up above a window in the middle of bedroom. In the next room which is a lounge, it can still shower out enough power (once set to full output power on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands) to provide WiFi devices with 215-220Mbps. This is impressive considering the radio signals have to travel through a build in wardrobe which is about 1.5m deep, and then through a brick wall. Couple the power of this unit with the excellent configuration system (Unifi Network) and it works a treat. I don't yet have a UniFi console, only this AP, however using the console available for both Windows and Mac OS I've been able to customize the access point and produce the screenshots. This ISN'T going to be powerful enough to penetrate through several brick walls and still provide full speed, no access point could ever do that. However it will still penetrate 1 brick wall and a built in wardbrobe/closet with a loss of about 40% of speed. This unit, like most Ubiquiti UniFi products requires power from PoE, and cannot be power any other way, nor does it come with a PoE injector. I simply bought a TP Link PoE injector that does both 802.3at and 802.3af for £17 from Amazon, this works a treat. Overall very nice bit of kit, expensive but allows for a lot of customisation at network level (including VLAN, VPN, Meshing etc).

Brilliant range
Brilliant product, especially if paired with the dream machine from ubiquity. Brilliant range and the signal strength is good. Quite easy to install. Has all the kit needed to mount it to any surface and the setup is easy. With the unify app, I've been able to stay connected up to 267 ft away with direct line of sight

Not what it says on the tin...
I've had this AP for 3 years now and although I could forgive the occasional drop out to begin with, it's now almost unusable. I'd heard a lot of great things about Ubiquiti products way before I bought this. One of our IT guys at work raved about them, too and for the first six months, it was reasonably good. However, it's never been a 100% stable product from day one but I learned to live with it. That said, over the last few months, it's become more flakier than a Cadbury's chocolate product. My expectations may be overinflated however Ubiquiti are supposed to produce enterprise class products and this is anything but. If you find your cooker is down, it's great for frying eggs, though. Runs hotter than your average tech... I wish I'd gone with a Cisco AP 😔

MY WI-FI IS HIGHLY EFFICIENT THROUGHOUT MY PRACTICE
This was advised my IT friend. This is being used in a professional practice. Now I have no interruptions in my practice for the WI_FI or PHONE signals

5Ghz Unusable
Before I start, I've been using Ubiquiti products for a long number of years. Had really high hopes for this AP but its been nothing but a nightmare since install. 2.4Ghz - no issues. 5Ghz - extremely unstable (Tested from laptop, Samsung Phone, Mac and Iphone). All show same issues with frequent disconnecting, 5Ghz SSID not being broadcast. When connected, can stay connected for about 30 minutes and then disconnects, SSID disappears. Have tried all the variation of settings, used the forums as well but problem still exists. I'll be returning this item and going back to AC-PRO. As it stands, the product is unusable.

Also vorher genau schauen welchen ihr habt.
