Amston Laser Level: Self-Leveling Cross Line Laser + Plumb Bob Lasers Tool, Includes Clamp & Carrying Pouch; Ideal for Construction, Tradesmen, DIY, Craftsmen, and Professional Use

There are lots of laser levels on the market at various price levels. I’m new to the DIY world, so I bought the least expensive product I could find at Home Depot. To say I was frustrated with this approach is an understatement. The level I bought never actually worked, and I gave up on it.I have several new projects in mind, so I decided to poke around Amazon for a higher quality product. I found many different varieties at a price range from $15 to over $500. I was willing to spend up to $200 and the Amston Cross Line Laser Level fell into that price range. More importantly it described features that are going to be important to me for a kitchen remodeling project I have coming up.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I was so happy with this product that I recently purchased a second one to give as a Christmas present to a family member that also does DIY projects.Little things are important to me, and the first thing that struck me is the box the Amston level comes in. While not actual wood, it looks like a wooden toolbox. The fact that Amston put some thought and effort into its packaging is the first indication of a quality product. The operating instructions are clear and concise. I especially liked the FAQ section although I would hope this section will grow with time. For example, if I am installing shelves in my garage, how would I go about using the tool to insure the shelves were level?I really like the fact that a clamp is included that gives you flexibility when anchoring the product. There are many times when a tripod wouldn’t really work because of its size. The clamp solves that problem. I may ultimately buy a tripod, but for now the clamp fits the bill.All in all, I am very pleased with this product so far.

This review is the DIY perspective previously using laborious manual methods of leveling aka sight levels. With the increase cost of tile materials to redo my bathroom I thought it best to look into a laser level. From a DIY view it was cost first and with a huge variety of laser levels on the market, and generally range from around $15 to over $400, though you can spend upwards of $1600, probably for contractors, this was one of those that fit my price range. In my research, range and accuracy seemed to be a priority with those using these instruments, on average a minimum of 20-foot range – most models promise accuracy within of an inch up to 30 feet was to be expected, this model specification allow 3/16” at 30 feet considerable better than the average. Another high priority is the self-leveling mechanism feature which this unit promotes. I did use an appliance bubble level to get it close and within the 4° angle required for the self-leveling to work…..it worked every time, being new to these instruments I did double check using my manual method, appears to be right on the money. I also liked the automatic out-of-level indicator blinking light. I found the fixed level useful for floor tile but did not expect both to be included in the same unit. The dot feature is another feature that is included and will now experiment with using it to install (6) new recessed lighting fixtures in the living room. I will probably not use this tool in the rain but it appears to be made of materials that will that are at least resistant to moisture. I recommend buying a study tripod….it really made the use of the level easier to manage, however the clamp provided was unique in that it had a single locking feature for a multi-pivot device….actually well designed. As every tool can be improved I would suggest a lithium battery and a bubble level on the top for rough leveling for the next revision of the tool. In summary, this tool is well worth the investment for the features you would expect in high end laser levelers.

Got this product a few days ago and was really impressed.I like the compact size and the handy case can be worn on a belt.Not actually used it on a job site yet but plan to in the next few days.Laser looks sharp and bright enough for our inside Plumbing work.Great looking tool at a decent price and a warranty you don't usually get on a tool.Seller could not be more attentive to their customers. Will not hesitate to purchase again from them.

This is my second laser, needed one for the plum Bob feature. The tough little guy does a great job at a great price. Has an LED to tell you when your out of level, comes with a case and a well built clamp. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the out of level would have been nice to be audible. Otherwise a smart buy for light construction and residential use.

I wish all companies I dealt with were as customer-focused as Amston appears to be. I have only had the level a short time - works like a charm - but I have been especially impressed with how the company seems genuinely committed to making sure my product is operating properly and I understand how to use it. Bravo. As for the laser level in use, it's been great and I only wish I had purchased this before I got this far along on the kitchen remodel. It's a boon for hanging cabinets, that's for sure.

Accurate and portable. Like having a six foot level, plumb-bob, and a long straightedge on your tool belt.A good tool for the price.
