This item is very well made however, it did not fit my portable a/c so, I had to return it!

I Made It Work.
This is said to fit a Toshiba portable AC unit. It did not fit ours. would not lock into the hose thing on the back.SO we bought a brand new Toshiba combo 12000 btu AC with heating. Bad mistake. The New unit was way to big and needed so much clearance from the base to the wall that in our dinky little bedroom I had no access to my side of the bed.SO. I took the original replacement part that didn't fit and broke the tabs that didn't fit the Toshiba and then sanded the broken tab area smooth with sandpaper and then DUCT TAPED THE THING IN PLACE. Enough duct tape and it is not going anywhere. Twisted the hose into in and hooked our old Toshiba AC back up to the window. Works fine.Returned a 600.00 air conditioner. and ok, things are copacetic.This ITEM MAY not fit your Toshiba AC But DUCT TAPE Never FAILS.I probably could have just duct taped the hose right on to the AC but I think the stability of the Replacement item does improve the performance. I give three stars for at least being able to use it, even though it doesn't fit as advertised.As they say " Necessity is the Mother of Invention." And May the Universe Bless Duct TAPE.

Very well-made, but does require patients!
This coupler was built very strong, and after spending time joining my hoses together, which took a little time being Easy with getting them all the way. It is super strong and will not come back apart from movement. I highly recommend this and will probably buy another one soon. Using a decent type of tool with non-sharp end to work the hose into the coupler is highly recommended so you do not have damage or cuts. Took about 20 to 30 minutes to make sure I was satisfied with the connection and it was solid up and running. Flexing the hose I used, which is very thick and well-made created a perfect seal. Don't get frustrated if it takes you a little longer to get the hose connected properly. No one wants a vent hose to leak the hot air back into your area. So again it's definitely highly recommended and will fix your extension needs for a portable AC unit

Didn't fit the tabs
This coupler is very sturdy. It did not fit my Fridgidaire portable a/c. The diameter was correct, but the coupler has tabs that didn't align correctly with the tabs on the a/c unit. Another reviewer said she broke off one tab, sanded down the area, and it slid in fine, although she had to use duct tape to make it perfectly airtight. That's a really great solution. An alternative is to order the coupler directly from Frigidaire. Not sure what I will do.
