2 year long term review
I have tested several projectors a couple of years ago and this was by far the best performer amongst the contenders. I have tested cheapo ones $100 price range to $400 price range Nebulas, Epsons and others around $600 and this one. I was torn between this and the Epson EF12. The sound in the Epson was better, but the image quality and brightness on the Xgimi wins. Also, the Epson had a terrible latency for games while the Xgimi has very low latency and makes gaming very fun. We play Nintendo switch and PS4 connected to this projector and a huge screen make a great experience. Racing games with a racing wheel are amazing on our 110” projector screen. My only gripe is the remote control is not backlit. Very annoying when watching a movie in the dark and I want to hit the volume button but accidentally hit the home button.Tip: I use this in our family room as well as on our outdoor patio. I have fixed setup on both places using photo camera mounts. I mounted one photo camera mount on the projector and I have two receiving mounts mounted on projector ceiling pole one in our family room and one on outside patio. I can easily take this projector outside for watching movies with kids, parties etc.Note: I dropped mine one time, on our outdoor patio. It fell from my hands as I was securing it to the ceiling, it bounced off a chair and hit the pavers. The top came off, and the edges were damaged. This was a year ago. I reinstalled the top, taped it and still going strong and no issues. This thing is well made.

It delivers
Update 2:XGimi has continued to improve the picture with each update. However, my unit had a 19" fall (the stand tipped over) and stopped focusing. The fall was not covered under warranty. XGIMI offered to replace it at a very reasonable price with a refurbished unit. Their commucation was a little off but less than two weeks later, the replacement has arrived and was at the latest firmware version. I have since purchsed their recommended stand for the projector as the tripod I used was a little unstable.Update:I've since upgraded my screen to en Elite Screens 120" Yard Master 2 and WOW! The picture is substantially improved. The picture is from that screen, I do recomment you add a Firestick if you are wanting Netflix. Thats one service not available on their Android TV App. The 3D works well after the Firmware update. It reads MKS files from a USB flash drive formated NTFS.Original Review:Wow!I bought this as an upgrade to an Optoma HD70 projector i bought in 2006 which has a dimming bulb. I started doing neighborhood movie nights and it just wasn't quite up to the task. I decided if I was going to upgrade, I might as well go with 4K and LED so I won't have bulb problems in the future. My screen is a cheap outdoor 100" diagonal screen.Set up was a snap. I upgraded the firmware and then started playing. I didn't notice the "green" or "blue" balance others complained about so maybe the new firmware compensated for it. I also didn't notice a low contrast problem but I did tweak my settings to my liking.Pros* The Sound is excellent but a little bass deficient. It'll be fine though for a Garage movie night.* It looks and feels like a quality built product. At 6 pounds, it has a little weight to it,* It mounted easily on my inexpensive camera tripod making it a simple set up for movie night.* BlueTooth audio OUT, works great and I tested with my BlueTooth receiver so I can use it outside without connecting any wires. (tripping hazards)* Streaming is simple, just like my smart tv.* Its quiet, at least to my 56 year old ears.* Autofocus is excellentCons:* HDMI BluRay is grainy unless you feed it UHD then its perfect. The upscaling needs tweaking by XGIMi, hopefully in the next update. Streaming even 480p doesn't have this issue. - Greatly improved with latest firmware.* The overall image, while excellent does suffer from a sharpness that makes it feel a little harsh but not much different from my 4K Samsung television.* Auto-keystone over compensates on my screen and I need to fine tune it. Although, it does give a nice proportioned image to start with. This may be my cheap Walmart screen causing the issue.* I'm not a Netflix subscriber but I do have Britbox which is not natively supported. - Britbox is now native.* Rainbow effect. If you leave motion compensation ON, you may experience them. Off, they're just an occassional fleeting thing and not really any different from my old Optoma DLP.If you don't mind the HDMI graininess/noise, then this is an excellent choice especially if you mostly stream your content and want a portable/semi-permanent solution. If you primarily use HDMI 1080p and below sources, you might want to look at the Horizon which is a 1080p projector.I gave it a 4 star for picture quality because of the graininess of HDMI input and 4 star for value because a speakerless 4K projector may be a better choice for you.

Great full 1080p portable projector
The appeal of this projector to me is largely the compact size, very capable built-in speakers, and LED light engine (meaning long life, lower heat, and less maintenance than a bulb). There are some cheaper options if you want a fixed installation projector, but the feature set of the H2 makes it (IMO) the best portable 1080p projector for taking to parties, family gatherings, etc. I picked up a collapsible photography backdrop frame and lycra stretch screen around the same time, and along with a camera tripod (the H2 has a standard tripod mount threading on the bottom) I have a completely portable setup. The 3rd and 4th pictures above show the VRV app running on a Shield TV connected to the H2 (as you can see on the right of the 3rd image it's still light out, but the blinds are closed), with the 4th picture showing rear projection on the lycra screen. The first two pictures are just projection on a plain white wall. Now, nothing is perfect and the shortcomings of the H2 for my uses are really in the built-in Android OS. As with a lot of Android devices from smaller brands the H2 isn't certified for the DRM used by major streaming apps like newer versions of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc. and as a result if you can get them to run you're likely to be restricted to lower video quality. Similarly it's not Google Play certified (it comes with the Aptoide store installed on the international version, though I've heard the domestic Chinese version has a different store and selection of apps). While not ideal, this can easily be worked around with an external video source, whether that's an Android TV box like the Shield TV, a Roku, Fire TV, or whatever you prefer. Sure, it's something else to carry but most streaming devices are very compact these days. You could also just mirror your phone's screen to the H2, but I haven't tested that extensively myself. The built-in Android device is still nice to have even in it's current state, and XGIMI has stated they're working on Google Play certification though I can't say if that will happen or if it applies to the H2 or just upcoming products. With the built-in OS you can watch YouTube, run Kodi, browse the web, etc., and the international remote can function as an air mouse to facilitate that. I'm sure some people will be satisfied with just the built-in OS but my main use cases are games (H2, screen, and Nintendo Switch is a very portable combination) and using the H2 with an external streaming video source, so I haven't really pushed the limits of what's capable with the built-in Android functionality. One final quick note about games: the H2 doesn't have the lowest input lag available on projectors, but if you set the picture mode to "Game" it feels pretty decent. Definitely good enough for having fun with friends and family, but if you're looking for the absolute lowest input latency (delay between the video source sending a frame over HDMI and that image being displayed) you aren't going to get that on the H2. For my uses, trading a couple frames of input latency for the portability makes sense.
