Cryptogram Puzzles: 606 Cryptoquotes from famous quotes by famous people

Huge number of quotes for the price. Ample room to write solutions on quality paper. Clues were more thought prevoking and helpful than many other collections. Most of the quotes are by people of stature and historical importance vs. entertainment personalities. It has a word and letter frequency tutorial at the begining which I will save. I am thru the first 500 and I have yet to find an error or typo. It also has a wrinkle I have not encountered before....some letters substitute for themselves in many of the quotes.I will look for more John Oga collections. If it had been spiral bound it would be perfect.

Many misprints, answers do not match up with corresponding sentences in book. For example sentence starts with a 1 letter word, but answer begins with a 2 letter word.

Nice collection of quotes. Not a fan of code letters matching actual letters - if anything, it makes the puzzle easier. I don’t particularly like large print, but this one is better than some. Wish more were offered in smaller font as I seem to be addicted to cryptoquotes, and most are in larger, bolder, ugly fonts.

Most pages as re ok. But it's frustrating to work on a puzzle only to find out the key is wrong. There are also complete puzzles that dont have answers.

The part where some letters stand for themselves is bad. It interrupts the flow.I check my work at times and the names I don't recognize and cat finish I look at the solution to verify when done with the puzzle. This particular book I have found a different puzzle solution from the puzzle itself. So no solution to compare.Puzzles 72 and 86 so far have a different solution

I have never done cryptograms where the correct letter IS the same letter. I have been doing them for years andthis doesn't even make sense. Some of the puzzles 3 of the letters were the same as the clue letter. Could not figurethem out without looking up the finale answer.

This threw me off at first because some of the letters stay themselves, something all other books never do. Thats what made it more challenging! Love this book. Easy to read lettering although found a couple puzzles that did not match the back answer.

A good puzzle book with good quotes. The type selected is not overly user friendly for cryptograming, but usable. On puzzle 86, the hint key and answer key are incorrect. Alternate hints to use: x=c c=q

I am really sorry to say that this book isn't worth the cost. There are many many mistakes throughout. The solutions don't match up with the puzzles in many cases. After struggling to solve one and you check the solution, it's a totally different phrase. Very frustrating especially when the clues don't fit to make sensible words.

I enjoy doing cryptograms. I enjoy that one letter stands for another and the goal is to figure what letter each is. I do not enjoy cryptograms where the letters may or may not represent other letters. But, I got the book, so I can say I found it annoying when some letters were unchanged. Then I got to puzzle #8. There I found 3 letters, u, i and y were not coded. This is not my idea of cryptograms. This, to me, is more than a little annoyance. If you don't mind that, maybe you will enjoy this book. I won't.

Good mix of quotes, some harder to solve than others. It is a little odd in that sometimes some of the letters simply represent themselves, but once you realise that, it isn't a problem. Good value for the money.

This is the worst cryptogram collection ever. :(
