So Cool!
When he was 11 I bought my son a Spacerail 1; he loved it! Now he's 39 and I bought this Spacerail 8 as a 'toy' for Christmas. He set it up over a weekend at my house and we've all enjoyed the journey! My 5 and 6 year old grandsons have been enthralled with the rolling 'marble' and it's given us an opportunity to discuss physics in a way that they can actually understand. This thing is mesmerizing! I know I'm going to have to get another one soon, but I might have to build a bigger room for them all first.

just like the old days
my boy (now 29) wanted to try this as a little stress relief. He had the smaller version with a couple of addons when he was less than half his age. We weren't disappointed.

I bought this knowing some of the poor reviews. Are the parts shotty? It's plastic and aluminum, what do you expect. Are the instructions tough? It's in Mandarin with poor English. Is it challenging? Absolutely. Is it worth it? 100%. The satisfaction is having to tweak it to get it right. Lots of trial and error but a learning experience with engineering and physics. I've always wanted it when I was a kid but never got it as a present and then it came off the market for awhile. Excited to buy it now at 37. Four days with 6 hours of daily construction. Totally worth it.Tip #1. Be patient.Tip #2. Measure the railing and work with the natural bend.Tip #3. Accept that it will not be exactly like the picture or instructions (but very close).

Great for the future architect
this is the perfect toy for the child who has outgrown their legos but loves the intellectual challenge of design/play!

Great thinking hobby for my high-schooler
Expect vague instructions. Great thinking hobby for my high-schooler! It was a great experience to build and to run. Some parts are fragile, and would not recommend for kids under 13. Overall it is great and works wonderfully. I think it makes a great hobby and is satisfying. I love it.

Good time in space
Once everyone figured out how to read the instructions it was smooth sailing. Great fun for the kids and looking forward to potentially adding to it.

Think before purchase very hard indeed!
This item needs better instructions and lots of room and not mostly pictures to assemble cause it is very hard even for adults. Not what I expected for my husband for fun but others may enjoy the challenge.
