They help but…
In general, I hate Spanx but these were recommended by my niece so thought I’d give them a try. They definitely do hold you in and smooth the rear nicely but where they hit on me, they create a roll at the top. I’m a small person, 5’1” and weigh about 114 but do have a little bit of a gut. They hold in most of the gut but I hate the roll at the top. I’ll keep them but they won’t work with some of the dresses I have.

Don’t expect this undergarment to give you a model’s flat stomach! It is nearly invisible under clothes and very comfortable.
