This review is for the PlushDeluxe Premium Zippered Mattress Encasement, Waterproof, Bed Bug & Dust Mite Proof 6-Sided Protector Cover, Hypoallergenic Cotton Terry Surface (Fits 9-12 Inches H) Twin,10-Year Warranty, purchased April 2020 (during Coronavirus self-isolation) for $35.NOTE: For some reason, Amazon Reviews is not allowing me to upload pictures for reviews at the moment. I will come back here and try to attach the photos I took for this review later.My two requirements for this purchase were that the mattress protector cover the entire mattress and that it be 100% WATERPROOF. I also needed it to be resistant to puncture from cat’s claws. I wasn’t convinced from reading the ad that it would be durable enough to stand up to my cats, and was especially unsure it was 100% waterproof. There were a lot of reviews stating that this protector is not waterproof and that it rips at the seams almost immediately. Here is my review after putting it on my mattress and testing its waterproofness.This mattress protector is zippered around approximately half of the perimeter of the mattress. The way it is placed on the mattress is similar to putting something into a half-pocket and then zipping it up the rest of the way. It was not too difficult to get it onto the mattress by myself but this was only for a very light twin mattress. If your bed is any bigger, you will probably need someone to help you put this on. It does come with instructions on the easiest way to get this on your mattress, which I found helpful.I did NOT find this product to be cheaply made, or to tear at the seams after tugging on it and wrestling with getting it onto my mattress. It held up pretty well against my tugging and whatnot. The seams held together fine and did not tear or rip.The zipper is not a very expensive one and I made sure to be gentle with the zipper and not to yank on it or otherwise pull on it in any way that would break it. I believe the zipper itself has plastic teeth and a metal zipper-pull, but I can’t be 100% sure of this. I would go easy on this zipper as it is more like a delicate, hidden dress zipper than a pants, jacket or upholstery zipper. I am not overly concerned that the zipper will break because I have placed another protective layer over this mattress protector eliminating the need to wash it often, however, if you plan on placing your sheets directly on top of this mattress protector and washing it regularly, I’m not sure this would be the best choice because the zipper doesn’t appear to be that durable that it would survive being zipped and unzipped often.The way that this mattress protector is made waterproof is the underside of the top (the side your body lies on) which is some type of loop material that appears to be cotton or a cotton blend is coated entirely with polypropylene. I tested its waterproofness by placing an area of the mattress protector on top of a red file folder, pouring water on top of the mattress protector, and examining the underside of the mattress protector and the top of the red file folder. I took some pictures for you and have uploaded them here, so you can see whether or not the reviews stating it’s not waterproof are accurate. The mattress protector I received from purchasing the product described at the beginning of this review is indeed 100% waterproof. The polypropylene covering on the underside of the protector prevented 100% of the water I poured from seeping through to the mattress. Also, from the appearance of the top of this product I believe it would be difficult but not impossible for my cats to puncture or rip it as they would if it were just a sheet of plastic.I hope this review was helpful to you. This is my second purchase. I put one on a queen size mattress and just ordered one for a twin. The one thing I had trouble with was when the package arrived. At the bottom of the package were boxes for bed size and thickness of the mattress. I noticed that "9" was checked. This gave me some concern since my mattress was 12" thick. I went back to my original order and it said that it was for a 9-12" mattress. Later I discovered by searching that you can order either 9-12 or 12-15. That relived my worry before opening the package in case it needed to be returned. The packaging could be made more easily understandable by the addition of 9-12 or 12-15 if the company ever has to re-order more packages for shipping.Other than that little issue, I would so far rate this as a 5. We have never had an accident get through a mattress pad we use to test whether the mattress encasement protected the mattress. I'm sure it will.One thing that I can testify to is the ability of the encasement to resist bed bugs. I'm 71 and in all my years I never knew what one of these things were until we sent our new queen size mattress back to have it adjusted. I believe that the trip on the companies truck exposed our unprotected mattress to these insidious little creatures and introduced them into our unprotected box spring where they took up residence. They plagued us for a month as i battled and killed them each night. My wife then was placed in a facility for a month of re-hab after a small tia stroke. In that month my daughter sprayed and powdered the room over and over and also bombed it 3x, vacuuming frequently. When we returned it looked like they were gone all except for a few hardy ones which were finally eradicated with one more bombing. The mattress encasement did protect the mattress from these bed bugs and I am thankful for that and that they are finally gone. The unprotected box spring was disposed of along with a wooden headboard that may also have harbored them.Be very careful what you let into your home. I've learned that we have an epidemic of these bugs in our country. Things that are wooden and used and can't be washed should be carefully considered before bringing them into your home. We were lucky to only have spent a few hindered dollars on their eradication. I hear that many have to bring in professional exterminators at a cost of thousands of dollars to get rid of them.The 9-12" cover fit my 12" twin with a bit of room in it. I was glad that it wasn't too snug of a fit so that the zipper would not be strained when closed. I'm very happy with this product, as you can see, I've used it twice now. I've not had to launder either one yet, so I can't say how they hold up to washings nor has either one gotten wet.

It is lovely and fit my son's 10 inch mattress like a glove. That said this is supposed to fit up to a 12 inch. We were going to get a mattress pad but I am unsure if this will work without compressing the pad. It already fits fairly firmly and at times I was afraid the zipper would break. In fact that is my main complaint is the small flimsy feeling sipper and zipper teeth.

Good fit. Snugged fit. This plush wraps around the mattress like white on rice. My old one didn’t.One thing that was very exhausting was the zipper. It kept getting caught and wouldn’t easily zip. I had to hold the sides together in order for it to zip smoothly. Other than that, it was fit and ready. I just placed it on so I have no idea if it’s effective yet. When u get your item don’t forget to register your product online for the warranty.

Not much to say yet, I just put it on my mattress but it fits like a glove and stays in place. The regular mattress protectors are great but they slip and slide (this is for a day bed) and bunch up at the edge. I wanted something that's waterproof and fully covers the mattress on all sizes and doesn't make noise like the plastic protectors. So far so good, love this one.
